I would say it's a pretty good game. It's not perfect, but the flaws don't really hamper a good gameplaying experience. Honestly if you can't handle a joke at the beginning of the game then perhaps it's best to not even play video games.

It's a good game in a generation of mediocre ones.

Persona 5 is just way too similiar to the previous games and doesn't have too many ideas on its own for how fucking long it was in development. Most things about it are slightly improved over 4, but I kinda don't feel like that is enough for a game in 2017, especially as the writing still mostly feels like a ps2 jrpg.

Dungeons are boring all flash no substance, combat is shallow, the "life sim" is a chore, too much shit is context sensitive and scripted, NG+ adds nothing besides letting you grind what you didn't your previous run, puzzles treat you like you're a retard and are generic as fuck, etc.

I enjoyed it a lot. Big SMT/Persona fan. Fully understand it's shortcomings but it was still a great time. Hopefully they can go even further with 6 and I'm also very excited for re fantasy

it's a friend simulator. Most of the core "gameplay" is just visual novel conversations you have with npc's so that they like you more and you can date the female ones. It's a game series aimed at the let's play/ twitch streamer watching crowd. The actual gameplay is just generic jrpg dungeon crawling with less depth that your average pokemon game. But people still lap this shit up due to the "Aesthetics"

After 5 minutes of fucking dialogue I unlock the frame rate and start spamming X to get to the actual game. After 20 minutes of spamming X I realize that it isn't going anywhere and I close the game. My problem with the Persona games (based on having played P4) is that there is no real strategy involved in the gameplay, except for maybe the bosses. Once you know what the enemy is weak to, it's just a matter of using that everytime you encounter it. Maybe I'm just too old for RPGs or something.

I really did enjoy creating Personas though.
