Yeah that's what I'm worried about, I think the most logical plot for a post-game would be to train the new champions or something like that, a good excuse to revisit all the locations. I don't know how they'd do that as a dungeon would likely need to be part of the map already, like an ancient temple or castle ruin or something, and they can't just pop a big structure on the map that wasnt there before. (unless those hills that look like a path near the border by the akkala lab are utilized to expand the region)

Stopped during the fourth beast. What were you going to say; Thag Hyrule Castle makes up for 40 hours of nothing? I explored it before quitting, besides that goofy holomap it was the only level that even slightly resembled Aonuma's lies.
Oh wait, how about Yiga Hideout? Holy shit what a revelation. Mine eyes have seen the glory of every early 2000s platformer, complete with a joke boss.

I'm assuming they, Riju, and Yunobo are going to be the new Champions and appointing them to their new positions is partly what this dlc will focus on. I'm hoping for that anyway. The lie was that levels were designed to be approached from multiple angles, taking advantage of this great and otherwise pointless open world. Except they're not. 5/6 of the levels are only approachable through escorts/minigames and cutscenes. You can't use skills learned or bought or found to get onto the Beasts, and they aren't part of the game world at all. There aren't even any enemies in them.
So yeah, Aonuma is up there with Todd now. Except Todd can actually design a city, sort of.

If I wanted a bland landscape simulaor I'd fucking play No Man's Sky, at least that has some semblance of resource management and survival on harder difficulties, even if the combat is just as shitty.
