The Switch is super gimmicky, but it's a good gimmick honestly. Local co-op games are easy to set up, you can take fully fledged console games that run at a good framerate (except BotW) with you everywhere, and it's got Nintendo's exclusives, weeb games, and some nice indie titles with extra stuff added to take advantage of the Switch's unique properties. The motion controls on the Joysticks are a million times better than the Wiimotes, and the HD rumble feature is pretty neat when games take advantage of it. Personally, I like it. Feels like what Nintendo wanted to do with the Wii U, but they were held back by hardware capabilities at the time. Only thing I'm sad about is no stylus, which makes trying to draw in Splatoon awful.

Nigga the Wii was a fine system. If anything, it helped expose who the low effort devs were because they would just tack motion controls onto the game. The worst thing Nintendo did with the Wii was that awful Donkey Kong game where you had to constantly shake the controller.
