Great atmosphere and map design. Gameplay is, although buggy, really fun and challenging. Sometimes it perfectly reflects the harsh nature of the zone and can be pretty immersive. Lots of memorable and really tense moments that last with you for quite awhile. Has the same sense of accomplishment that you'd get after beating a Dark Souls boss (yes stupid comparison I know)

All the mutants are cool as well as spooky af. All of the factions have great aspects to them as well as their own clear motivations that you can allign with. The story is pretty great and really hits the themes of the works it was inspired by (andrei tarkovsky's stalker, and the Arkady Brothers' Roadside Picnic)

I fucking hated this game, Earthbound was better. I even enjoyed Mother 1 more than this game. The dad was the only good character for the beginning and that monkey was complete shit for the entire game. All of the characters felt so fucking weak compared to the last 2 games.

for my millionth playthrough, i've decided to beat entire game with only makarov this time. god it's fun, ai really shines when you have to cover all the time instead of just rushing and spraying

Why can't they recommend more good games like Overwatch™ and CS:GO!?!?
I'm just fucking about, I found all the games on the list to be really fun. Already cleared God Hand on Normal and Normal+KMS, gonna do a Hard run then go Hard+KMS if I can pretty soon. The second part of 8-1 is going to make me tear my hair out, I swear to god.

Seems just about as unreal as going through Unreal with just the dispersion pistol: tedious, but not impossible.
Props to the guy though. I don't think I'd have the grit for that sorta thing.

w-well, i hope i'll figure something out. but yeah, i'll probably be in trouble later. for now though, it works flawlessly. i pick relatively close fights, then always fire two shots in a row, one staggers and second one headshots. Even soldiers after x18 usually die after two well-placed shots, so i'm still not experiencing sponge-related problems yet.

worst thing so far was mission where mercs are invading noobcamp and you have to protect it. not like mercs were difficult enemies, but rather in the mod (autumn aurora) grenades are stupidly powerful and my friendlies were killing themselves with those. i had to throw some nades on my own because i simply wasn't able to kill mercs fast enough.

Speaking of SoC, what are objectively the best minor overhaul mods. what I mean is, weapon mods or whatever
