I play skyrim special edition on xbone and I added a lot of mods and now every time I see a dragon its that dumb Thomas the train instead. I've literally disabled every mod to try and figure out which is doing it and it's still thomas the train after I've disabled every mod. Is my game broken? What do?

Because that's wrong. Bethesda has a ton of good artists, writers, scripters, programmers, and business people. Making a game on the same scale would take a smaller team an incredibly long time, and a lot of people would bail on the project if they weren't getting payed or felt it wasn't stable enough. When you say "almost anyone", you should be limiting that to big companies with big budgets for unproven projects and teams willing to work on them. It would be an absolute miracle if a no-name studio came along with a game that was even half as large or deep as even Skyrim or Fallout 4 without it being some kind of pixelshit 2D thing.

I think they try to do too much. What the game lacks is detail. I'd rather they took out half the cities, half the dungeons, half the dialogue and make something more fleshed out instead. I don't mind it at all, but after seeing the game play if they original plan and hearing about it I've gone through playing 3 again and there were fucktons of times in the game where you could literally replace Geralt and day he's off doing something else and a completely different witcher would have made just as much if not more sense

Honestly it still baffles me that anyone likes this game. Currently playing through daggerfall and have played morrowind and oblivion and it's insane just how far they have fallen.

From removing the DnD mechanics, to actually stripping the tertiary lore you can read from books and the immense world building. Skyrim is a hollow piece of shit that on the surface when you start looks promising. But then you get to the leveling system, and literally nothing matters and any character can do anything. All the guild quests are boring slogs with no true resolution or actual fun quests besides Dark Brotherhood. The expansion save the morrowind one are all terrible pieces of garbage.

The leveling is the worst offender of the bunch. The signs were there in oblivion that character creation would be outright removed from the game come the next sequel. But I never once thought or believed they would dumb it down to that level.

Even on a surface level without playing the others in the series it is still a completely trash game and killing civilians or stealing isn't even fun considering the consequences are nothing compared to their predecessors.

The towns and villages all look identical, the dragons are easy poorly conceived events that are meant to be amazing. The dungeons are literally corridors, the loot is incredibly bad with no varied items, no spell making, no banks, no boats.


I mean it's painfully fucking obvious that the people who enjoy this game were literally 8 when it dropped and it's by pure nostalgia and being underage that they think this game was actually a "masterpiece". If you strip the open world elements that made the previous game fun, than at least make a decent story with writing and lore. They couldn't even get that right.

As much as I dislike it these days, I will say switching could also sort of kill the games for me a bit. Like if they used the iD engine the mod tools would most likley suffer and they might forgo a lot of interactivity they have set up now for a more static world. Granted with Fallout 4 they had REALLY REALLY worn the engine thin. In Skyrim they arguably made the game run and feel smoother compared to Fallout 3 and Oblivion so I could forgive them for that, but with Fallout 4 it just ran like ass, looked like ass, played(aside from the shooting mechanics) like ass and loaded like ass. I think they really reached the engines breaking point with that one.

Idk honestly. The sameness of every dungeon/quest and lack of feeling a sense of accomplishment from doing things pushed me back into Dark Souls after only a couple months of playing Skyrim. Never been back to it since it had a desire to. To be fair though, I played on PS3 so never had the mods to play with.
