Also, while I do listen to music at unsafe levels, I tend to change the volume quite sporadically, even in the middle of the song. How susceptible am I to hearing loss? I definitely use my headphones more than an hour a day, though not all at once.

If they press on your head too hard and are a material that doesn't let your skin breath, yes. You'd have to wear them all day every day for it to matter though. If you are worried just swap between headphones and earbuds occasionally and use conditioner when you wash your hair.
