Don't worry, he has no idea what he's talking about. I bet he doesn't even know Miasma, or how to correctly position himself, build his party, or minimize casting times. Mage is fine but limited, Sorceror is incredible. I like clearing BBI arenas with High Maelstrom.

Hardmode gives a fuckton of gold and I believe double XP, so it balances out the difficulty.
