Still have the PS1 game. Been forever since I played it, but I think I always chose Ukyo.

I was about to make a Ranma thread an hour ago, but figured no one would bother to reply. Guess it's the right time now.

When will we see a new Ranma game?
What genre will it be?
How would you incorporate the transformation curses into gameplay?

Depends, it may be just mobile trash.
I wish it would be a 2d fighter or a shenmue-like game

For the shenmue game, you get different tasks depending on your current form, male ranma is about 1vs1 fights or training while ranko is either those wacky martial art challenges or using her feminine traits to get into new locations.
If you play as other chars, just make platforming/puzzle sections using their abilities.

I'd absolutely love a 3rd person adventure/beat 'em up sort of game taking place in a comfy Japanese town. Running around on buildings, jumping on walls and shit would be a really fun way to move around and you can cram a ton of smaller quests all over the place.
Entering combat tournaments, cooking contests, beauty shows etc would all fit perfectly. I've had this vision of a Ranma game for over a decade, when I first started reading the manga, but now the technology is finally cheap enough where it could realistically work, granted there was an interest for making such a game.

endless stories, with no real plot.
think of Lupin, Conan, or her older stuff
the problem is she hasn't, made a cast as likeable as the other stuff in decades. even Inuyasha feels like a drag
guess making this stuff actually feels like there is an end is part of the problem too

I never really got into Chougi Ranbuhen due to the lack of availability in the West. I played a lot of Hard Battle though. Akane was my go to for that, she had an amazing dash attack.

Realistically, we'll sadly never see another Ranma game aside from more variations of the Pachinko machines that are in Japan. Maybe a mobile game of some sort, but honestly, I think the best we can hope for would be a guest slot in some sort of fighter, but there's none that really pull from the Shonen Sunday roster, so that seems unlikely.

I would love an action/adventure game set in the universe. The fighters were okay, but I feel like there could be a lot more potential with the curses for example in other genres.

As for best girl... it depends, in what way are we talking? Best for Ranma? Best for an everyday anon? Best in a non-romantic sense?

There were some instances early on in the series that felt like it had some weight to it. The fights were still pretty even and they were really cool.
Then, as new characters showed up, it became a bit more gimmicky, but still fun. The ice skating parts for example, where Ranma and Akane had to team up, were kind of neat. Though, Ranma just became too fucking strong after a while. He could easily beat the shit out of anyone who was a formidable foe previously and there didn't seem to be any tension left.
One of my favourite parts was when Happosai fucks ranma up by hitting him in some bullshit magic spot, making him lose all his strength. It actually lead to some interesting character interaction between him and Akane, where she was suddenly the strong one who had to defend him. Him eventually running away out of shame and Akane going after was pretty sweet and showed that she did care.
I also loved his comeback, by learning some insane technique that used the opponent's strength against them, leading them in a spiral and concentrating their battle spirit or some shit in a single spot and releasing it on them for a massive strike.
Fuck. This makes me want to re-read this shit. I should dig up my old volumes.

Random stage hazards pour cold water in certain spots with very brief warning (crumbling rock, lady leaning out a window, etc). Background spectators will pour hot water from kettles if you're close enough.

Jusenkyo victims can keep fighting immediately when hit by cold, albeit in their cursed forms now. Non-victims take a brief stun from cold water as they shake it off. Hot water doesn't stun anyone.*

Exceptions: Taro and Rogue, who are weaker in human form than cursed.

In addition, "Bunme ん Cushion" which reproduces the meat bean that Ranma has eating is on the B prize. There were 2 types of pouches in the C prize, all 8 kinds of acrylic key holders in the D prize, all 4 kinds of can badges in the E prize, all dealt with illustrations of ramen's etc.

Not exactly true. By the end of the series, both Happosai and Cologne are still well beyond Ranma's reach, and Ryouga keeps pretty neck-and-neck with Ranma throughout (showcased especially well on Phoenix Mountain, where Ranma and Ryouga together easily tear through every warrior on the mountain to reach Saffron).

There's also two types of enemies in Ranma: gimmick enemies and real fighters. The gimmicks, like Ryu, Mousse, the battlesuit, etc., Ranma usually gets some counter-gimmick that can always beat it, making them a non-threat. The real fighters like Herb Ranma only beats in a lucky stroke. If forced to fight Herb again, Ranma would almost certainly lose. Herb is better than Ranma at martial arts, better than him at chi attacks, stronger all around, and cannot be defeated by the Hiryu Shoten Ha - he only lost because Ranma took him by surprise with a Hiryu Shoten Ha reversal. It won't work on him twice.

I get that Rumiko Hackashi loves making annoying unlikable characters, especially females. But there are lines you don't cross and Nabiki the cunt is indeed an awful human even for the hijink fueled characters in this series. To Nabiki the idea of selling out both her sisters to rapists with STDs or just leaving her whole family homeless in the street while she makes off like a bandit? This is all acceptable to her.

The battle of debts proves otherwise though. Nabiki has a bottom line she won't cross regarding her family. The line is just really, really, really low, however (voyeur pics, doesn't buy Ranma/Akane parachutes as they fall out of an airplane, refuses Hinako as a mother when she lazes about and switches sides when she brings money in instead, etc.).

Nah. when Kasha-oo put her family in debt (keep in mind, none of her money was touched), Nabiki gets pissed. She claims it's because of he was playing with her feelings, but it's obvious that isn't the case.
