I played Halo CE in co-op with a friend and was bored as fuck. I'm used to the single player mode of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Time Splitters Future Perfect. I found the weapon variety lackluster, what little weapons there were were boring (space pistol, space SMG, space rifle), and the graphics and music being decent didn't make up for the boring serious story and level design that was just small gauntlet->move ahead->small gauntlet->repeat. Nothing in Halo could even compare to the crafted levels and objectives in those games I mentioned before, but when I say this, I just get labeled a troll. Can anyone please help me understand the love for Halo? (and for the record, my friend bought that collection for the Xbone and we were playing it co-op, after 1 we proceeded to play Halo 2 co-op, which I barely managed to take, and I dropped it on 3, couldn't stomach it anymore)

I know everyone usually says PS2 won, but I never got bored of my GameCube for its entire lifetime. I didn't own a PS2 and I bought a used one for $25 to play Kingdom Hearts and I had no interest in other games. I can think of a few other titles that I'm sure I would have enjoyed growing up but largely the PS2 library looks really uninteresting.

For me, probably Xbox=Gamecube > PS2. Never owned a dreamcast, and the only game I'm interested in on it came to the Gamecube.

I spent a lot of time in a few games on the Xbox (Kotor 1 and 2, Battlefront 2, Mercenaries, Fable), but not a lot of time in anything else. I played a lot more Gamecube games.

PS2 probably would have been better than the Xbox, and equal to the GCN for me, but my dad sold it when I was a kid. I emulated a lot of good games from it recently though.

I like the GC design and controller. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it's horrible. I played RE4 on GC and everything just felt right.

Everything except Ninja Gaiden. I remember Microsoft tried pushing GFW by making Halo 2 exclusive to the platform. They thought PC gamers were clamoring for a 3 year old Xbox port.
