First time I picked Charmander and it was the most disappointing decision of my life. Then I went Squirtle and had a few good runs with him then I thought I got taste so I started Bulbasaur but then it dawned on me that the best starter is boxing it and getting an actual good pokemon

Linear and hand holdy but the Totem Pokemon fights are among the hardest in the series which isn't much but it's something.
The new pokemon are really nice since all of them have some differentianting factor and can have a niche in every team.
They are overall fine but you're better off waiting for Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon.
