What was your experience while playing Dark Souls 2, did you like it?, hate it? too difficult?, easy?, how long did it take you to beat it? did complete the 100% of the game? 80%? 50%? 10%?
>>
>>387643586
At first at hated it. When I learned to treat it like it's own thing it got a lot better. You basically have to learn how to play the game, even coming from DS1.
I beat it in probably a week. I did everything but never gt a 100% completion rate, as some itens can only be obtained with multiple playthroughts. And the pvp is the best in the series, too bad not a lot of people play it these days.
>>
>>387643586
I hated it during the first couple hours, but once it "clicked" I couldn't put it down. Went as far as NG+4 with a couple characters In fact I'm replaying vanilla right now with a pure caster.
Put 600 hours on vanilla, 200 hours on Scholar.
>>
>>387643586
For the record, I played Scholar of the First Sin. It has different enemy placements to vanilla DS2, but it had all the DLC and shinier moving pictures for the same price.

It seems to have been vindicated by history, but I never really liked it. Everything always feels too light, and the game has a bad habit of putting large packs of enemies in the way. It's not hard, just slow as you need to draw them out with a bow or get fucked in close combat.

The bosses also aren't as memorable as DS1 or 3. I won't say it's the dudes in armor thing, as most aren't, but I only remember a few off the top of my head whereas I can name every boss from 1 and 3. I also feel the bosses are easiest in 2, but the DLC ups the difficulty (and has some great bosses) enough to balance it.

That said, lightness aside, the dual wielding is the best in the game and apparently the PvP is best in 2 as well. I never got into Souls PvP, so I couldn't comment.

Also, Adp is cancer, and I don't care what defence is mounted for it. Having to put stats into making rolling viable is stupid, as it helps make the later game too easy. Some people also complain about hitboxes, but I've never run into trouble with those.
>>

Least good DS game, I don't think many people will debate that, but it is easily the most replayable.
DS1 was one of my all time greats 1st time playing it, DS3 was decent and Bloodborne was pure kino. So why is this the only one I ever want to go back to?
Never had a PS3 so no DeS

At the time I thought, and my current replay confirmed it, that the whole "can't dodge without levelling up ADP" is either a meme or people are so shit at the series that they need a billion invincibility frames.
I never level it up and I've been able to dodge without trouble, be regular enemies or bosses. You just need to know when and were to dodge, like any regular videogame.

should we have a 4chan dark souls revival day?
>>
Genuinely do not like it, had a very long playthrough and it never really clicked.

Played Demon's Souls recently and I honestly liked it more than any Dark Souls game.
>>
>>387643586
I had to force myself to finish it. It was frustrating in a completely non fun way.
The only good memory i have of 2 is with the Demon of Song because his design really stand out. If only i knew it wouldn't be necessary to go through 2 to play 3. Would still play offcourse, but probably after 3, just for the sake of completion.

Just stopped by to remind you all that Das2 was trash and your shit opinion about it wont save it from that fact

>play DS1
>shitton of fun, one of the best games I played in a long time
>get excited to try DS2
>game somehow looks uglier than the first one
>controls are stiff, roll is shit
>drop game

I never felt overpowered in ds2. Like even usinh cheap tactics like hornet+rapier+flyn ring+resin felt gair at best. Too much gank squads.

And some cheap traps. Armour section was nice and I enjoyed the dlc areas.

I hated the game for taking away enemies if i killed them too much. If i want to grind for an armour peice dont punish me with a shit drop rate and make me use a aesthic to keep grinding.

I got to ng+. Got bored half way.

Time to inject some life into this thread.

Let's play a little game: pick a Souls game, start a new character, play until you get killed. Once you get killed it's over. Post screenshot.
>>
The first half of 2 is horrendously bad, which makes it difficult to start again.

It's an okay game, I just get bored out of my skull every time I try to start a new character
>>
It's a lot easier than 1 and not as good looking but all in all it was good. I could only played a couple times before my xbox ate shit, I want to get them on pc next sale.
>>
>>387643586
Hated my first playthrough, bought SotFS and played until the Shaded Woods then dropped it again.
>>

And I'm sure you're very happy with how good you are, but the default iframes are very low. There's a difference between needing a billion iframes and starting the game with the minimum number of iframes you get in DS1. Call me bad if you like, but I prefer a decent margin of error, especially as I play a light equip-load dex build in the games that relies on rolling. Equip load was a good way of balancing ability to roll with punishment for failing to roll properly, and I still don't get why they made the most important defensive manoeuvre something you have to level up when important offensive actions like attack speed, how quickly you can block and stamina regen aren't.

With just 8 ADP (the starting number for a sorcerer) I'm dancing around enemies and bosses (only the Ivory King is left on this particular playthrough yet). The only challenging ones were the ruin sentinels due to how undeveloped your character is at that point.
You talk like the game was designed around rolling, when shields exist, and you want to be able to roll and block without any penalty. At the end of the day, you're just a mediocre who need to be invisible and invulnerable while jumping.

I played de than sotfs ds3 ds1 an bb last sotfs is a good game but the rest of the series is better ds1>bb>ds3>de>sotfs

I am dangerously addicted to fashion souls.

Well, if you're playing a sorceror then of course you won't find it difficult. One of your core stats (attunement) raises agility (3 attunement = 1 adp, therefore you're starting with effectively 12 adp and that only rises as you invest in spell slots), so you don't need as much investment into adp. I've done an easymode run as sorceror, and it was exactly as you described. I'm not talking about a class that can do damage quickly and at great range while having easier access to powerful defensive abilities (as the stats needed for shields can be gained with the points you save on adp without sacrificing your roll) when I say that adp causes problems. Do you know why the Ruin Sentinels were a problem? Because you were actually using a close to starting roll.

Also, why are you convinced I want the game to make me invincible? Like I said, I've beaten it + DLC despite my complaints, but more to the point it's possible to have a stance between 'I want to be invincible all the time' and 'I want all my dodges to have to be frame perfect'. Dark Souls 1 sits in that sweet spot, and I doubt you'd say that game makes you invincible all the time (and more effectively, as the better shields make your dodging worse due to weight, forcing you to specialise unless you break the system using Havel's ring).

As someone who played ds II first:
I thought it was one of the best games I'd ever played, then I played the original and it was even better. that didn't make me like ds II less though now I just think both are great games.
I understand why people might dislike the jump from I to II though.
