I have one, but I almost never use it seeing as I dont really leave the house other than to go to work.

It's nice.

I can emulate a shit ton of stuff, controls work great and I can play a good amount of pc games.

Definitely worth it for me, and it doesn't get that hot really. Yeah it gets warm under extended intensive use, but that's it.

I bought mine for $250. Nobody actually pays retail for these things.

Emulation performance is good. Everything pre ps2/gamecube works super great. PSP and DS are good.

Some ps2 works pretty well, people are getting a lot of gamecube and some wii stuff running full speed.

PC game performance is fine for anything that isn't AAA from the last 5-7 years or something super intensive like a total war game. I played all of stick of truth on mine and that was sweet.

I'm actually thinking of getting one to play pokemon fangames on a handheld, since RPG maker emulators for android don't work, but I have concerns about the pixel density and how well it'd actually emulate the apparent resolution/image quality of actual pokemon games on GBA/DS

Sorry thought you replied to a different post. If you're just streaming no it doesn't need to be in sleep mode you can have a game up on one monitor and still do things on your second. You only need to set wake on lan if you want it to start up your pc if it's off.

Why is this piece of shit shilled so much? I'd buy a Switch for Nintendo Switch games, not emulated stuff. I can play my Switch on my monitor, I don't drag it around to play like a hand held so buying a piece of shit handheld PC doesn't make any sense. If I want to play on my PC my consoles are set up right next to my PC. I can just play it.

Right, but my concern is also about acuity, if that makes sense

The fangame in question doesn't use interpolation as it upscales so that's not an issue, i'm more concerned about just how big any given "pixel" looks. Even if you upscale it from 256 to 1024 on a computer, there's no blur, since it's just taking a 1x1 pixel and making it a 4x4 square of the same color, but that makes that given "pixel" look bigger since it's no longer actually a single pixel, which can mean some of the sprites don't look as clean since they are meant to be seen at a certain size.

Like, the back view sprites in pic related, for reference. The actual native sprite size is the smaller view of them, here, rahter then the larger 2x view. Since it's designed to be seen at the smaller one, it looks "crisper" at that smaller resolution then the larger one.

So i'm wondering if this fangame, on the display of one of these, at any of those 3 resolutions, shows up at the right balance of size to not be too tiny on the screen but not blown up too much to lose that crispness.
