DR1 and the DR2 saga are the only ones worth full price. DR3 is alright if you can get it cheap. DR4 is fucking garbage.

If you liked the first one, then you will like DR2 and DR2:OTR. They are a little different in tone but for the most part but they are still "dead rising" games.

DR3 and 4 are trash don't bother with them.

1, 2 and OTR are all great. 1 is the best but 2 and OTR have really good improvements and features that you kind of start to miss when replaying 1 like co op. The other games are shit.

Hard to say, really. All of these faggot assed Capcom zombie games are always stiffly controlled as shit. Can't stand it. It tremendously takes all the fun out of these games. They add all of these cool features to the game and little things to fuck around with, but they always figure - "HEY, WAIT! HOW CAN WE SOMEHOW FUCK THIS UP?? YEA I KNO, WE'LL STIFFEN UP THE CONTROLS AND ADD TONS OF DELAY AND HAVE THE MAIN CHARACTER RUN AROUND AS IF HE'S CONSTIPATED HAH HAHA HAHAH HAHAHA AA XDDD!!". And Capcom has followed this same exact trend with majority of their games, including Monster Hunter.

It's like someone taking you to an all you can eat ice cream buffet. All the toppings and trimmings you could ever ask for. But the CEO of the buffet does some dumb shit and says, "hey, you know what? how can I completely fuck this up? yea... I know. I'll order in a supply of forks instead of spoons cause why not?".

OTR is practically the same as 2 just with Frank West fan service, which as a big DR1 fan I appreciate but it only makes it slightly better than vanilla DR2.

Nope, but I watched gameplay videos and read reviews of people that enjoyed the first few games for the same reasons that I enjoyed the first few games. I'm not stupid enough to just buy 4 after making the mistake of blindly buying 3.

The game is squatting over my table enticing me to thow down my money and pick up my fork after I already watched several other waiters spray liquid shit all over several other patrons. I don't need to play it to know it's shit if I've already done the research to see that it is in fact total diarrhea.

Do not play OTR or 3, they're trash.

I absolutely loved 2, but something like 95% of my playtime was in co-op with my friend who had moved away. It is a good game on its own, and probably strong enough to warrant a purchase, and for sure worth it if you have someone to co-op with.

This is true, 1 and 2 are the best. OTR is just okay, if all it only made me appreciate Greene even more.

OP, if you take away anything from this thread, it should be that: 1 is great, 2 and OtR are pretty great, and that the rest of the series takes a nose dive starting with 3.

Is OTR really better than DR2? I only played OTR because it had apparently fixed a lot of DR2's problems, but the fact that you could restart from a checkpoint anytime you/a survivor died removed all the tension from the game.

2 and OTR are good follow-ups, but not as great (this comes from someone who started with DR2 as his first game).
3 is mediocre but fully functional and playable.
4... I haven't played it, and I don't have any wish to do it.

I have. It's a massive disappointment even compared to Dead Rising 3, more so because by now you would assume they have learned by now. Capcom has finally listened thankfully, but thats only because fans made their voices loud enough by cutting into their bottom line.
