Is anyone else excited for this shitty Advance Wars Clone on PC?

I am now! I love advance wars. How have I not heard of this?

A little bit. Definitely going to need a mod to change the hideous character art though.

It looks and sounds like a cheap ripoff, but I really am desperate for any type of AW game so yes.

Eh they've released 2 so far. One had shitty collection and fishing. The other added endgame dungeons with some new loot.
They're working on a big one that will change space travel.

None of what they've done fix the real problems with the game though. Combat is shit. Progression is shit. Most all systems in the game are insanely shallow. Worlds are static and boring as fuck without Events. Bosses don't spawn like in Terraria, they have their own levels you can't build in.

I want a modern millitary theme.
Medieval combat gridbased turnbased videogames have a healthy franchise they should stay in and stop oozing into other games.

I'll buy a new advance wars in a heartbeat but have no interest in this trash.

There is already several Nintendo Wars clones on PC, none of them are worth anything.

The tactical ain't all.
There is no good music, no good sprites, no good animation, no good characters, no good generals, no good scenario, no good modding tools, no good network capacities.

The best Nintendo Wars we have is the modded Adance Wars GBA roms with network addon.
Some custom maps are really good.

But hey, if one day, a good game comes out, why not.
But it will probably will need to be made by japs, westerners can't do turn-based tacticals for shit.

I'll probably get the game for the Switch for the local play potential.
And then, if the PC version for whatever the reason gets a much more successful modding scene than I anticipate (I am not confident), then I'll probably just end up getting the game twice to solve that. But I doubt it. If I am wrong however, it'll likely be because the game was worth the effort, in which case I probably wouldn't mind getting it twice.

But yeah. The Switch version looks more appealing to me. Portable, and easy local play multiplayer.
