games will still look exactly the same, but at a higher resolution
>>
>>387599084
Well no one knows, but anyone can speculate.
>>
>>387599296
VR will never be marketable enough for gaming because it will always have inferior graphical fidelity to non VR games.
It might hit mainstream for a single generation but soon after it will fade into obscurity like motion controls and any other redundant gimmick.
>>

>>
8k 240hz and HDR will be standard on Gaming Monitors
>>

>135 gbs games

We already have 80gb games. In 20 years it will probably be closer to 1tb. Half-life 19 years ago and was 500mb. If it goes in the exact same data progression it would actually mean that games 20 years from now will be 80tb
>>
i dont even wanna think about how my life will be in 20 years,i fear i might still be in mom's house all this time and not be able to play a game released after 2013 as i am now,i need suicide pills asap

God I remember paying $50 for a 500mb usb
>>
>>387598869
Everyone will need 1 cpu core and 1 entire gpu for 1 fps. Minimum ram will be 16tb.
>>
>>387598869
What did it look like 20 years ago? Basically the same. You had computers, consoles and handhelds. Graphics got better, gameplay got worse. One new thing is smartphones but nobody takes them seriously as a gaming platform, they're the equivalent of Snake on the first Nokia models.
>>
Well, for PC games there will be one giant store. If that will still be Steam is a different question.
I hope it will put consumer interests in front of anti-piracy bullshit and that there is nothing Orwellian going on.

Nintendo will hopefully also still be around as a console manufacturer. Seems about time for a Switch Mini.
It at least appears to be more likely than with Sony and MS.
>>
>>387599518
You could have easily added crysis in 2007

You need to have 18 years to use this website, you stupid little brat.

take it easy on him, he was probably still shitting in diapers in 2003.
>>
>>387598869
The same as it is now. Consoles will have finally met 4k 60 fps standard. Only half the games will be at 30 fps because cinematic.

That's the thing though, he could believably be in his early-mid twenties

I'm 24 and I remember seeing 1GB flash drives for $70.

Now they practically give them away.

Good times.
>>387601637
Impossible. Mid twenties were right in the middle of the transitioning period of technology. If you're mid 20s you should have experienced at least five to ten years of life before cell phones became main stream, before the internet was a daily part of our lives. Among other things.

>at least five to ten years of life before cell phones became main stream, before the internet was a daily part of our lives. Among other things.
I'm 23, life pre-internet is a very vague memory, I certainly wasn't spending $50 on USBs as a 9 year old
>>
>>387601913
>life pre-internet is a vague memory
Seriously? You never used the house phone to schedule a meet up time with friends, or just biked over to their house, knocked on their door and made them go outside or asked if they wanted to play video games that afternoon?
>>

What's the 2007 game?

The Internet became a mainstream thing in the late 90s.
There were ads for websites in the fucking Mickey Mouse magazine.
You don't have ANY pre-Internet memory, if you are 23.
>>
>>387602032
Probably yeah but like I said I think you're overestimating the ability of an 8/9/10/11 year old to appreciate

Dial up was being introduced in many areas in the late 90s. It was nowhere near a daily part of people's lives.
>>
>>387602169
I prefer the Ducks as well, but the weekly Disney comic magazine is unfortunately called Mickey Mouse in Germany.
>>
>>387602113
Again dude, you'd have to be at least in your mid teens already /in/ the early 2000s to give half a shit about $50 500mb USBs
>>
>>387598869
All non-VR gaming will be considered "retro style indie" games.

I'm trying to write like that right now and it's not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. Still not as good and not nearly as fast as the "regular" way.
Damn, my elbow hurts already.
