I wanted it to be a 1-on-1 with Joker because of the games attempts to make Akechi the Hemlock to Joker's Arsene.
Not to redeem him, but to simply give him closure. A fight where you get Hold-ups and hostage situations to talk and get more out of him.
Shit would have been dope.

Not really, you can't do hold-ups in a 1-on-1 and Futaba is always there as back-up if even if you have nobody else in the battle team.
I was mostly thinking of, at certain points of the fight, you get a second member when they aren't fighting berserk Shadows to lay a smackdown on Akechi.

How about Akechi final boss with jaldaboath being Akechi's ultimate persona representing the reverse World arcana. During the fight he removes your confidants from existence causing you to lose your perks. Man what could have been.
