Yeah it is necessary, the Steam version comes with the patch already installed but the developers don't receive the money from Steam sales so you're honestly better off pirating it. The most seeded pirated version also comes with the crack installed and ready to play right off the bat.

This is a malkavian thing in the plus patch version, if you have none of these, then it's a bug, restart game.

antitribu is worth a playthrough if you have already beaten vanilla a bunch.

Played for the first time last year. Dl'd the patch and had a great time until I got stuck in a game breaking glitch late in the game. Checked the patch notes and saw there was an update related to the glitch released like two days after I started playing. A month and a half of playing lost.

But I'm gonna give it another shot now. Perfect game for incoming autumn/spooky moods
