>game auto-detects your computer and presets it to low
>game runs perfectly fine at 1080p 60fps when you put it on high
>Try to reinstall old game
>"You need Windows 95 or later to run this"
>Running Windows 10
I mean 95 does come after 10, so what do I know?
>>387585896
>game looks at your hardware
>doesn't recognize some parts
>might be some chink bootleg crap
>better play it safe and put everything on low
What's going on?
>>387585896
>game auto-detects my parts and sets everything to high
>enjoy the game at post-cinematic 10 fps
>when your specs far exceed the maximum specs of the time and the game auto-detects to low
>when you push everything up and set it to 4k
>"you'll have to run this game in compatibility mode"
>game seems to run fine without it

>Takes six days and three nights to reach options to change everything because of how much it lags
>When you put a game to minimum
>Looks like utter garbage even compared to games from yesteryear
>Still runs like shit
>>387585896
Pretty much this >>387586247
>game detects your settings and auto sets to ultra high
>get into game and get shit frames
>>387586007
>I mean 95 does come after 10, so what do I know?
I know you're joking, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft skipped 9 when naming the new windows because of an issue like this. Old programs would look for "9" to detect whether or not someone is using an OS older than xp so alot of older programs would instantly think windows 9 was a 95/98 machine.
>Put settings on low
>Game somehow runs worse than you put it on high
>>387586574
>Crysis 1 was 10 years ago
>still looks better than a lot of modern games that require much more powerful hardware
>>387586370
Fucking Starcraft 2 pulled this shit on me.
>have weak ass video card but have 4ghz CPU
>game launches in 1080p high
>fucking 5 fps
>have to slowly try and find options menu
>set it to low
>still runs like shit
>lower resolution to 720p
>game runs in tiny arse window in the middle of the screen
>Game auto sets to high
>First game is so fucking laggy PC actually needs to be restarted
HORRIBLE first impression PUBG
>Game runs perfectly unless you enable one specific option
>Always some "cinematic" option like motion blur or PhysX that makes the game look like shit
>>387586919
>hairworks
>nvidia flex
>game stops functioning properly when going over 30 fps
>>387585896
I see you use AMD as well.
>>387586894
Had the same experience. It ran TERRIBLY at first, nowadays it's a lot better though still choppy compared to other games.
As alaptopfag, I understand.
>>387585896
>Game runs like absolute shit
>Pump all the graphics to max
>Runs fantastically
Fucking AA2.
>>387587426
this can actually happen if the GPU is being drastically bottlnecked.
In Overwatch I had to turn my resolution scaling UP to put more strain on my GPU and smooth out my frame pacing.
>game runs butter smooth
>except when something specific happens, causing framerate to drop to halve, unless you disable some graphical options
>game runs great one day, no bugs, great fps
>save game
>come back later
>game runs like shit, crashes at the slightest touch
Oh, that's our Skyrim!
>Game runs terribly on High
>Disable just shadows
>Runs far better
Why is this still a thing
>>387585896
they don't want to risk bad performance so the specs are high requirements
>>387585896
>Playing on toaster
>Set game's graphics on low to prevent problems
>Game has constant framedrops and crashes
>Set graphics on high
>It works better
