SFV is the first fighting game I've really taken seriously, let me have this

A lot of reasons.

>It's the current street fighter
>Launch was very barebones
>The first year wasn't very interesting balance-wise, top 8s consisting of the same characters
>The netcode is ass and still is ass
>Some characters look like complete shit, such as Ken
>The initial very high input lag (which has since been reduced a bit)
>Easy execution, there are a lot of people with execution boners

That being said SFV has really turned a corner recently. There's so much character diversity at the moment, pros have reached a level where you watch it and just think "man, I couldn't do that". People are used to the game and have learnt that you can actually whiff punish, that neutral does actually exist in this game.

It's a shame that the game has such a stigma attached to it now even though it's a good game.

Because it's a shitty game. It's not even fun to watch, the high level "footsie" are fucking lame.

everyone always generally hates the newest fighting game out because they've just gotten used to the old version after hating it for so long.
