Do people actually create characters with receding hairlines?

Yeah, but I always make them with gray hair to match.

Yes, I want the absolute fucking nothing of a person to go an awesome adventure or even become a hero

Vegeta actually has a protruding hairline, not a receding hairline. It gives that illusion though

It's just over exaggerated widow's peak.

It just feels wrong to make bishie male protagonist.

I always feel more immersed the gruffier and ragged he looks. Every male character I have ever made will always have a big bushy beard, and generally just looks like a fucking hobo.

But if it's a female character, making her a loli is top priority. The younger the better.
>>
>>387583254
>It just feels wrong to make bishie male protagonist.
Depends on the game really. If it's not anime styled or a JRPG, I'll just make the character look like me, but muscular. I guess it's because I kind of have that bishie look, so it doesn't feel weird for me.

Whenever I make a girl, I make them look like my ideal girl (long red hair, pale etc). I don't normally play as a girl, but a game like Hollow Realization has shitty male customization, so I picked a girl.
>>
>>387583073
Now that's ironic.

I played the game a couple years ago.
It's an MMO where running instanced dungeons is the game. You're a god and your goal is to level up and get your god powers. There are a few instanced zones you unlock where you do questing, but it's nothing special. You start with 3 classes and you unlock more in a tech tree. Classes can be swapped whenever you want. The voice acting is bad. The story feels like an afterthought. It gets super grindy and repetative later as you run the same dungeons over and over. There's also PVP.
It's not worth your time in my opinion.
>>
>>387583016
and yet, the quote you provided implies that it's not always a feature of balding
you know women get widows peaks?
>>
>>387582663
it is in fact a bad game

>>
>>387581768

Quit being retarded.
>A widow's peak is a V-shaped point in the hairline in the center of the forehead. Hair growth on the forehead is suppressed in a bilateral pair of periorbital fields. Without a widow's peak, these fields join in the middle of the forehead so as to give a hairline that runs straight across. A widow's peak results when the point of intersection on the forehead of the upper perimeters of these fields is lower than usual.

At the centre of my forehead there's a wedge of hair that grows really far down, proper Vegeta-style, not just a hint of it. Had a scare about it until I realized it wasn't receding, if all my hair grew that low I'd be some freak with hair growing halfway down my forehead.

>'Receding hairline'

That is barely even a 2 in the Norwood scale (Yes, there's a scale for hairline recession). What you have the is a 'mature' hairline, the type of hairline that peaks at each corner during an adult male's maturity. And yes, I know it's customization and that the hair style and the avatar you have there is not correlated, but even judging from the hairstyle itself, I'd still say it's a mature hairline and not receding.

t. A 25 year old anon who is genuinely receding like a bitch.

I always get nervous when I'm reminded of baldness. My father wasn't bald, my grandpas only got bald at a very old age, but I'm a manlet and I deal with an inordinate amount of stress. I'm so afraid of going bald.

Fuck, see? I blog posted about it and everything.
>>
>>387581718
It's a meme.
>>
>>387587434
The trick is not to care, I shave my head and people always complement me on it. The only person who really cares about you being bald is you. Just rock it and you'll be fine.
>>
>>387587434
It's a total gamble. My Grandfather (Dad's side) had hair until death. My Father went bald as fuck, as did my eldest brother. My middle brother has full, thick hair, and I'm somewhere in between with slight recession.

I heard that the highest % chance of what your hair will be like in the future is to observe your mother's side of the family, are your uncles on that side bald/balding?
>>
>>387587109
whats your number on the norwood scale? mine is a 2, just went on rogaine a few weeks ago and started noticing some parts growing back already
>>
>>387587434
Women don't really give if you're balding, only men do.
>>
>>387587561
I'm about a 2, although I've also got a naturally high hairline since birth, so it makes it even worse. Thank God my hair grows fast and curly/wavy, I can hide it extremely well.

>rogaine
Heard some horror stories about that, like how it affects sexual potency or even worse, you rapidly go bald after you cease using it. Not sure if it's true or not. Hope i'm wrong though.

Mature hairline and receding hairline is a bit of an artificial distinction. Male pattern baldness is basically as normal as facial hair on men - it's just that the presence of some minor facial hair is much more noticeable than minor hair loss. So we think that male pattern baldness is some kind of "disease" some unlucky men have. Mature hairline is maybe comparable to the kind of moustache boys usually get in their early teens.

But it's true that the dude's hair is doing pretty average even assuming it was attached to a very young adult male.

When did you start? I've had a receding hairline for a few years at the ripe old age of 19 but it's not really gotten worse
>>
>tfw my forehead is huge and long face and hairline has always been really far back
desu i'd rather just be balding
>>
>>387588686
Some men get widow's peak and then the balding stops. That is called "maturing of hairline"
>>
>>387588849
Widow's peak is unrelated to mature hairline, gender, age and male pattern baldness. See >>387583635

It's very common to see some slight recession in the corners of a man's hairline in his young adult days and then the balding to stop for a very long time.... VISUALLY. It's just that it takes time for the balding to be visually obvious and it's usually way slower in other parts of the hair, only when a part of hair goes below ~50% of the original thickness it is noticeable.
>>
>>387589641
>male doesn't have widow's peak
>gets to his early-mid twenties
>hair starts falling out
>male now has widow's peak
>hair stops falling out
>his hairline has matured
understand now?
>>
>>387581385
And women complain about unrealistic female body in Vidya.
>>
>>387589873
My point was that it's all part of the same phenomenon of MPB (which happens to basically all males to varying degress) so while it may be somewhat useful to draw a line between "mature hairline" and "actually receding" (as slight recession doesn't mean the rest of the hair is going to visually thin anytime soon), it is kinda arbitrary and artificial of a distinction. Understand now?
