As a Silent Hill fan since the first I wasn't convinced Silent Hills was some resurrection. Kojima's way too heavy-handed with his writing and spells out everything so you know his "genius". He would make some neat horror kino though.

P.T. wasn't a demo of what Silent Hills was going to be anyway, P.T. was just a short horror game made to announce Silent Hills.

The funniest part of this whole P.T. thingy was teenagers going to my Silent Hill videos and asking what the Closer was and if Lisa was related to the past Silent Hill games, really huge WTF and made me realize how old i am and that there is a newer generation that doesn't even know Silent Hill exists.

This is why some of these old ass franchises that we have known for decades now need to fucking end already. It gets beyond ridiculous seeing them linger on to the point where they become so old that several generations will be born yet they still persist.

Some really bad offenders that come to mind that have or I assume have story canon that go all the way back 80s and 90s is Resident Evil and Metal Gear.

Lets say if Konami kept Kojima on board and he made the MGSV everyone seemed to want. Then he also made another and took another 10 years to create it. By the time 2025 comes around or whatever the series would be so old that it would nearly be the same age as a middle aged person. When is enough enough?

I like Nintendo's approach they have with their IPs. Forget about the story from 30 years ago. Enjoy the game now for what it is.
