Nomura goes out of his way to try and explain things though. The problem is they keep on making spinoffs so the story gets even more convoluted. Also he can't contain his autism and has to create plot threads that aren't really necessary and just exist to confuse everyone and make the plot needlessly complex.

Like expanding on the keyblade lore in BBS is fine. Seeing where Malicifent got the idea to steal hearts and seeing how Org XIII and Ansem SoD came to be was all well and good, but then he had to make Xehanort a time traveler who clones himself and plays 4D chess with everyone else in the universe, things get out of hand. Was the whole Vanitas/Ventus story really necessary either? All it really explains is how Sora/Roxas can dual wield, which didn't even need explanation.

While I understand the sentiment, there are examples of him questioning and emoting emotions other then happiness in this series, besides 1.

In Chain of Memories and KH2 he actually got pretty angry at times, and wasn't always happy. Like when he argued with Donald regarding Namine in Chain of Memories. Another example being after the Demyx boss fight, where he's willing to take out more of them with no hesitation. He also questioned if fighting the Heartless was the right thing to do in KH2, after finding out it benefits the Organization.

In Dream Drop Distance, he makes it a point to question what's going on with Jiminy and Micket in Prankster's Paradise and Country of the Musketeers because he knows something is off, with them appearing. He also calls out Xemnas and Xigbar out on their shit.

Roxas is Sora's nobody so he has Sora's keyblade, but also Xion's when they merged. Ventus is also the reason Roxas looks nothing like Sora.
