God Eater 1/2 have a broken multiplayer lobby system that doesn't show games in progress and won't let people just and wait. It just looks empty all the time, plus there's bugs with 4 players if I remem right.

Toukiden 2 is really solid, but the playerbase isn't very large because it's too damn expensive and doesn't go on sale because Koei. Honestly my only complaint with the game is the final gearing up progress requiring ALL the parts to be from the endgame loot table change. It's not too bad.

Hitboxes are pretty good, you can duck under tails and narrowly avoid things pretty reliably.
Combat itself feels okay. Not quite as solid as Monster Hunter. Enemy attacks need to feel more damaging, it's easy to feel like you don't get hit at all.
Weapon variety isn't too massive. There's only 4 weapons at the moment, each has their gimmick, but, it's not like the difference between using a Bowgun and using dual swords or anything like in MH.
Monsters themselves are okay. They lack the themes that MH has though. Like, you'll be randomly fighting an owl, and it'll just suddenly shoot fire out of its ass, without any indication that it was a firey monster.
Crafting is super basic. No branches or anything.
Lanterns are a nice touch.
Islands feel pretty generic. Not sure if handcrafted or randomly generated, which kinda says it all really. There's a few different biomes, but, I'm not too far in to say there's more than 3 yet.
Quests are okay. But, I prefer just killing monsters and making my own way through things rather than an NPC telling me I need to kill monsters XYZ now.
There's a lot of show-off in the game. Player hub only seems to exist to show off your armor, banners or whatever cosmetics to people. You can barely interact with other players.
Not sure what to make of the weapon balance. Some people say the dual blades are overpowered. They might just be bad at the game.

So far, it's definitely an Alpha. Monster Hunter World will destroy it. But, after World dies down a bit, this game will still be getting updates, so, maybe that will work in their favor.
