This game is almost a decade old but still looks and plays fantastic thanks to good design, also the audo work is stellar.
What's the best tool and why is it theforce gun?

The best gun is the starter gun, though I'm spacing on the name.

The starter gun is good to get you to the point where you switch it for the pulse rifle and then upgrade to force gun.

I always liked the flamethrower. It's not the best weapon, but the idea of unleashing flames of hell on those monsters pleases me a great deal. And the blue flames in the sequels are just delicious.

>sequels
There's only one, anon.
But yeah the flamethrower can be a decent weapon when fully upgraded.
Dead Space 1 and 2 are a lot better than RE 4-6. I haven't played 3 so I can't comment on it.

Good post. I think I might head back for a replay. I always felt like DS1's legacy was harmed by its sequels getting progressively worse when the first game was pretty fucking fun. DS2 does have one great part though, and surprise of surprises, it's a callback to the first game.
Ripper is literally the best weapon, don't even have to time shots correctly. Just shot and drag your shit around.

>Complete the entire game just using the starter weapon because it is so OP
>Get an achievement for it
>Didn't even realise that it was supposed to be challenging

Now try this on impossible difficutly and realize how it's actually one of the weaker shittier guns,
>pulse rifle and line gun, telekinesis kills in between
Only acceptable loadout
Does anyone have a webm of the death animation when you get your head replaced by those baby tentacle things?

Still easy. Stasis trivializes everything anyways because it lasts an eternity.

They are better than 5 and 6. But comparing them to RE4, c'mon man. They are amazing but nowhere near as good as RE4

This game had some pretty legit concepts
>Can't strafe diagonally, makes you more prone to panicking during stressful situations and reinforces how Isaac is an engineer with guns, not a trained soldier
>Doors constantly open in the middle of corridors, making you slowly check both left and right before inching out>Mfw phase 2 of the final boss fight is burned into my memory
