I would say the coils would have worked better as an obstacle in Metallic Madness or Titanic Monarch but frankly I'd rather have not seen them again at all.

You have to fall down a series of trash pits to get to where OP's webm starts. The very first one you get dropped in you can just jump out of onto a ledge to the right and keep going.

Just to be sure, I've seen videos on youtube of people doing this, as well as a friend of mine, so I want to make sure you know. When you're gripping those spinning propeller poles, there is absolutely no timing involved in shooting off of them the direction you want. You just hold left or right to jump off in that direction, there's no careful flinging or anything. Some folks seem to think you have to time it to get Sonic to go a particular direction. You can also shimmy up and down them, including past those electric coils (when they aren't charged).
