>AAI Programmable Vehicles by Earendel

>Makes vehicles act like RTS units. Control them using a remote control handset, or program them with circuit conditions and zones. Can be used for base enemy base assault, patrols, friendly base navigation, vehicle-based mining, and more advanced applications. Works with vanilla and modded vehicles. Visit the mod portal page for a full feature list or the forums for tutorials.

I spent like 6 hours playing all the way until I reached automobilism.
I got disheartened because my base was a fucking mess, and it would take me an eternity to fix everything and organize it properly to start producing blue science, and the green science production is another fucking mess, ALSO I can't seem to find a ratio where I mine as much as I use of ores/coal.

I-I'm not the only one, right? I prefer a steady, free, uninterrupted flow of goods instead of buffering and caching huge trainloads.

>>387538824

But that's the fun part anon. Realizing your inefficiency, learning from and building a better setup.
>>
>>387538824
>ALSO I can't seem to find a ratio where I mine as much as I use of ores/coal.
Why would you need that? Why do people have this mysterious misconception that they only need to produce exactly as much as they require? Not only is that virtually impossible to do, but it's inefficient as fuck.
>>
>>387539232
But trains are

A E S T H E T I C
>>
>>387539546
>Anon has been run over by a train.
>>
>>387539546
Trains cost coal to operate. Transport belts cost nothing once constructed. If transport belts took energy to run, I might consider using trains.
>>
>>387539512
Having all your belts clogged is a sign you're only wasting space, and not making use of the resources.
>>
>>387539821
>wasting space
Empty belts take exactly as much space, what are you talking about?
>not making use of the resources
No, it means you are production is at 100% capacity, which is good. Who cares if there's 500 iron plates sitting idle on a belt somewhere, when their only purpose is to feed factories.

So you better star making some sense my man.

Building a factory in order to research technology with the eventual goal of launching a rocket. You gather raw resources and transform them via smelting and crafting into usable components. Also there are sometimes aliens that slightly annoy you unless you play on a deathworld.
>>
>>387539802

It's okay to go belts but the game gets sluggish the more belts you plop down. Bots are more efficient but you'll have to tear down your base again to accommodate them.
>>
>>387540116

Clogged belts, as in full of resources for me is a good thing, works like a phase, a buff of some sort.
Perfect for when you need a constant flow.
Though I also putt boxes at the end with stack inserters so when the machinery can't keep up, the belt continues to move and fill up that buff.

Depending on the flow, I change the way it buffers the belt.
Though I use stack inserters and logic chests so robos can pick from them if needed.
>>
>>387540442
Game still isn't coded for multi-cores but the devs optimized the game too well that you'll only notice the drop when you're at megabase levels or planning to launch a certain number of rockets per second.

With your spec you'll unlikely see drops unless you go full autist and go 10 rockets per second.

I did 20 rockets at the same time by making a timed split on a belt so that the silos got their last part at the same time.
Damn was ear raping, but I loved it.
Checked old save from 0.12 and sadly there's like 200k entities that are now useless since my mods were outdated and not working anymore. At least my lil iron/copper place worked thanks to using local electricity.

I can't connect every one in one grid since the power runs out and thus puts everything to 0.
This is before the power plant update so none of my steam machines work.
>>387542606
I have multiple independent factories.
I love using the power switch to group factories and then have one big station that just works as a switch station.
I got that "fetish" from the first Jurassic park movie when they restart the whole park with those big sexy switches.
>>
>>387543185

>Why so few biter bases

After I get tanks, I spend 90% of my time driving around and killing bases. I only stop back into my factory to refuel and reload, maybe add a couple necessary upgrades, then I head back out. When I can no longer just plow through a biter base with the tank and crush everything, that's when the game gets really interesting.

You build empty barrels out of steel, then put them in assembly machines 2 or 3 with whatever fluid you want in the barrel, it then crafts a barrel of that fluid.

At the other end, you put full barrels into assembly machines and it produces empty barrels and the fluid inside.

Try lazy trains. You load them up with whatever you want, send them to each station, which unloads raw materials and loads completed ones. You'll have enough trains to prevent saturation usually, though if you get too much shit loading in at once, you might need to adjust a limit to how much stuff can be loaded per stop.
