The game is much easier on the eyes compared to RO2.
The map variety is shitty if you don't rely on the few custom map servers.
The guns are fun
and the gook/american hate people shout over team chat is always hilarious.

This game looks horrid honestly. I played it for like 10 hours and the gameplay is just a shitty RO2. It's been years since we got a rising storm game and they used the same shitty engine.

I literally can't even play it for long because it looks like vomit.

Map design, for me. There's some alright parts, but I knew I wouldn't enjoy this game as much when I played it on release day and came upon multiple spots where the game funnels all the players through choke points in ways that remind me of CoD. Like the jungle had foliage you can't see/shoot/pass through in the middle of the map. What the fuck is that shit?

I think part of the problem is the lack of terrain destruction. RO2 had a similar problem, especially in workshop/custom maps. a Lack of Terrain or building destruction/deformation makes the game feel kind of outdated in the present.

Ideally Tripwire will spend some time looking into implementing terrain-destruction for their next red-orchestra/rising-storm game, but it seems unlikely.

Its boring. There's no class dynamic like in RO2 where your playstyle and usefulness to the team depends on the firerate of your gun. Everyone in RS2 has automatics. I was hyped as fuck for RS2 but after playing it I decided it was a bad setting for a Red Orchestra game.

PR's got the problem of using Fucking BF2 as a base.

BF2 kind of sucks in a lot of ways, one of them being the inability to map a 3rd function onto a weapon. (for instance a pistolwhip or a bayonet stab), though this was just one of many many problems.

I love the game and play it frequently, but the lack of variety with the maps and weapons is doing it in. I don't need a fuckton of weapon unlocks or shit like that, but it gets old when the majority of your playerbase is using one of two weapons the grunts are allowed for the majority of the games. And while I enjoy the variations of the original maps that are now being tested on official servers, five maps is too little. I find myself playing for an hour or so and then I have no urge to continue.

Player count was pretty solid at release. Not huge but pretty good for a niche game.

People have just gotten bored of playing the same 2 or 3 maps over and over. They released some new maps, but it's just game-mode variants of the same maps.
When they release some actual new maps/content the player count will go back up for a while.
