Maybe? I thought it was a really neat game at first but after a little while into the game I was totally disillusioned with the skill system. You can do gimmicky stuff to get into areas early or you can reach the psionics lab and get the mimic form that lets you bypass everything but hacking. Mechanics are also pretty much useless unless you want the green laser and it's not really as good at killing things as the taser and pistol are.

Do you like system shock?
The game is trivialized too easily, the gameplay builds are unbalanced / balanced around being an idiot, there is too much backtracking, the enemy variety is bad and the use typhon/don't use typhon mods choice is not clearly defined for the player.
I can and will debate these points, the game's a solid 6/10.
>>387523286
>too much backtracking
That's kind of the entire point of the genre, idiot.
I enjoyed it,but even on hard it was way to easy later on, I didn't even use any psychic stuff either.
>>387523381
Oh yeah? Well I don't fucking like it.

there's a demo now, just play that

Yes, it's easily the best immersive sim (or whatever you want to call this type of game) that has come out during the past decade or so
t. filthy philistine
>>387523381
The best part of this game is easily the exploration aspect, and backtracking through cleared areas (which you do a lot near the end of the game) is the opposite of exploration
>>387524739
yfw this villian literally did nothing wrong
Alex only wanted to respect his sisters wishes before her personality drift went all bonkers.
And yes, Morgan should canonically be a female. Her hairstyle is cute.
I kind of wanted to fight that giant ass typhoon at the end.
>>387525839
Alex was also willingly feeding soviet political prisoners to aliens to make more neuromods (which are totally safe and healthy), all while keeping his employees in the dark about what's going onSiding with him is objectively the best choice though
If you do play it, OP, use this mod which reintroduces the hardcore mechanics that were gutted during the game's development
http://www.nexusmods.com/prey2017/mods/1/?
I'm personally still waiting on the patch where they put this stuff back in an optional difficulty, including weapon degradation and limited oxygen in space.
>>387526404
>one of the main reasons that he used that certain strain of human lives for neuromod income was that it was cheaper
>forcefully replacing entire department branches through neuromod extraction the employees installed if they didnt cooperate>avoided physicals for over 5 months
>>387526404
True.
In fact, one of the things I liked about the game was that Morgan as well as Alex was actually quite a fucking piece of shit.
I particularly enjoyed Crew Quarters for this reason. Think about it, Morgan's picking up all these tapes and notes discovering the normal, pedestrian lives of these humans on the station. Though she was in charge to an extent, she was so far removed from it all. She spent all her time in a lab or an office, cold and distant while her staff are goofing about with toy guns and D/D games. Usually games try and paint your character as human and relatable whilst everyone else is either against you, there simply to serve the purpose of helping you or just background noise.

I fucking loved it, not much replay value but the most enjoyment I've gotten out of a game this year.
>>387521860
>"I'm too impatient to wait 5 fucking seconds for a loading screen, therefore it sucks"
The loading times really do fucking suck though, especially towards the end where you have to haul ass through multiple zones.

>>"Arkane made it, therefore it sucks"
>>"Reddit loves Arkane, therefore it sucks"
Arkane is amazing, though. They're among the few AAA devs still making games that even resemble the old classics like Thief and Deus Ex.
The only thing they suck on is performance, but D2 runs well now.
The game has fuck all weapon and (especially) enemy variety, and just drags on.
It's not worth it.
>>387528253
Arkane's biggest shtick is they're apparently the only team left in the business that can do good level design.
>>387528728
>they're apparently the only team left in the business that can do good level design.
So you've not played the new Deus Ex games?
Sure is.
>>387521109
Yes
>>387528867
I have. I never liked new Deus Ex level design because it's very blatant. You know every level will have a air duct for stealth approach and mandatory keypads so your skill points aren't wasted. Although, Mankind Divided was good in how they approached verticality more, which is something Arkane's been doing since forever.
>>387528728
Accompanied by great replayability from the variety in playstyles, very little handholding and barely any gameplay impairing nuisances like unskipable cutscenes or slow animations.
>>387529245
>mfw those fast as fuck executions in Dishonored you KNOW any other developer would've went for elaborate ones to show off their animations
>>387521109
Have they patched the preformance issues yet.
While I'm at it, have they done the same for Dishonored 2 yet?
