Kind of? It's the logical lovechild of the Wiimote and a standard controller. I still love the idea of handing off a Joycon to a friend to play some impromptu multiplayer, but outside your first few times playing the Switch, you'll immediately be wanting two Joycons or a Pro Controller

Outside of Inkbrush where spamming the trigger is necessary, you can easily play most weapons well with Joycons. Pro Controller is easily more comfortable than Joycons, but aren't necessarily mandatory

I find the joycons to be just fine for splatoon 2.
The only thing is that mine was a gamestop bundle that came with an additional and different comfort grip thing with better contours and rubber grips on the bottom.

Does the Switch still use Motion Controls?

Yes but it's mostly for gyro aiming

It's much more like a 3DS than a Wii

You do get games like ARMS but that is lightyears ahead of old Wii Waggle
