There's just something about sitting on a sofa or comfy chair in front of a 50 inch screen playing with a controller. Sure, you could hook up a computer to the screen and get an adapter for the controller but that's a lot more money and time. I'm also just a big fan of physical games. I only ever download games if there's a decent sale going on for it. Call me old fashioned, but consoles just make me feel more at home when playing video games. It's what I grew up doing and what i'll die doing. Nothing is better than getting home from a long day at work and classes to spend the small amount of hours I have left in my day pulling out N64 cartridges or going through my rack of PS4, Xbone, 360 and playing one of them.

Besides, what I've come to realise is that I don't really have time to go back and play shit from ten years ago, so the notion of not being able to play old games doesn't bother me too much. Also, PS3 emulation is making giant strides quickly, so that option will be there for people; plus, you can expect some form of emulation or classic re-release later if you're hankering for nostalgia.
