I blew off the first time I encountered it, but when it spawned in the Talos I Lobby it got stuck in an animation glitch and I killed it with less than 10 shotgun shots.

It's not cold just perpetual evening time. Nice trees and rocks, good lighting. Like being a nice park after dinner. And you can't define comfyness by the enemy presence. In that case no place is really comfy because you're still on a dying space station full of hostile aliens.
