The Zeta Metroid in Samus Returns is as close as you'll get.

I liked how the games threw you into the gameplay with no handholding.
Then Nintendo improved it by having it handhold you all the way through plus lots of cutscenes.

this basicly the amazing mechanics of some of the games. i think Super Metroid and mario 64 have got to be contenders for the best mechanical games ever made. They just play so well and you can do so much with them.

I play video games for gameplay and sure stuff like atmosphere or whatever has an affect on that but fundamentally what makes me come back are the mechanics and something like super metriod has that in spades.

The gameplay. Honestly there are too many aspects of Metroid that I just love but I do love exploring areas, finding new upgrades and items that make me more powerful and allow me to access new areas. I find that genuinely addicting.

It does right what both collectathons and modern day open world games fail at doing. It gives you a tightly structured, not so big, no so small world to run around in with a limited, but expertly paced, freedom, where you collect useful items and unlock different paths and shortcuts, all while fighting enemies and bosses along the way. I just love how it all comes together. Atmosphere is carried not only by visuals and music but also the gameplay for these games. It's pretty seamless. Lots of great character designs, sound design, etc. I just love that Alien-esque sci-fi platforming. It's a spot only Metroid really fills.

Metroid does one thing better than most sci-fi franchises I know of, video game or not, and that is the alien worlds. While Star Wars, for example, has a bunch of single-biome planets, Metroid's worlds are deeply atmospheric and varied. Zebes alone is practically like its own character with how unique its environments are.

Where can I download the European version of Metroid Prime?
I've only been able to find the USA version and it's just not the same

Absolutely everything! Especially Prime! Not that I dislike traditional Metroid, I actually love it ; but Prime just speaks even more to my heart!

There's many games I like playing ; but Metroid Prime is a game I'd have liked to MAKE! If I had the means neccessary to develop a game, the result would be pretty much Metroid Prime! It hits my personal taste for aesthetics, design, gameplay, atmosphere, lore...

A Metroid-Aliens crossover could potentially be the most boss vidya ever made but the logistical difficulties involved would make it a nightmare and that's even before production starts
Plus they'd have to pry the license from Gearbox's cold, dead hands

Technically, xenomorphs are pretty hard to kill, even with chozo technology.

Because of crossbreeding the Xenos with the Metroids? Sure.

It could be a cool opportunity to have a game that has mostly Metroids as enemies for a change. Like maybe regular Metroids could be a fairly common regular enemy and other stages of the Metroid's lifecycle could be semi-common or so and the Metroid-Xeno hybrids could be bosses or minibosses like Metroid 2.
