The game is in full development. A second screen accessory that you can attach your joy-cons to is being released to accommodate the control scheme, among other things.
So what is changing this time around?

Zero 2 emphasizes completely new modes that play differently from one another. You have the 'classic' mode, which plays like a 64 style Star Fox game. You have 'Command' mode, where you move your ships around a map to defend Corneria from invading forces (Rather similar to Star Fox 2) and you have 'Mission' mode, where you tackle incredibly intense challenges in an area wherea single death spells a game over.
Ultimately the idea is to appeal to a new generation of gamers, while keeping what made the original games so fun.

No way in fuck is Nintendo stupid enough to make the Switch a gargantuan tablet and rip the gimmick off of the 3DS.
