They didn't do it right. They literally copied every meme Triple A game out there but "It's ok when Nintendo does it".

They took many inspirations, but fixed + added their very own flavor to things.

Nothing but player's own curiosity and motivation to improve your survival chances push you forward in BotW, and there's practically no restrictions put on what you can and can't do after the short "tutorial" scene in beginning.

That horrendous 2-tone shading coupled with the ultra bare-bones textures is such an instant turn-off.
You wouldn't even believe how much i despise that look.
It's also open world with no attempt to justify or benefit from that decision, so I see no point in even getting it.

Probably in the minority, but I liked the seeds and shrines. I don't really care about the tangible item I got, the puzzle in and of itself was the reward
