BOTW was awesome and 100% a validation for my switch purchase. The game made exploration feel intrinsically rewarding in a way no game has done for me since Red Dead Redemption.

But it does have flaws, serious flaws.

Well, people might say its trying something new or innovative, but I dont really honestly think that this game does that much that hasnt been done somewhere before.

It's really really well polished though.

Games enjoyable but definitely not a memorable game for me. I doubt I'll be thinking about it years down the line. It only ever crosses my mind when I'm on /v/ and see threads about it. Game could be significantly improved.
I guess I'd rate it an 8/10.

I honestly think most people who think it's a 10/10 or game of the century have just gotten so used to shitty/mediocre games over the years. Past 3 years have not been very kind to gaming.

They made an open-world with actual gameplay mechanics.
Real exploration.
Great controls compared to others laggy/slow/bugged OW. From battles to basic moves, it's always fun.
It's well animated and pretty, despite the obvious gap between PS4/PC standards.

Still some useless collectathon crap, but great game overall.
