Is it okay if I use companions mods in morrowind even though it's my first time playing?

A good starting point is Oblivion.

It's in the awkward transition period where Bethesda started watering down the RPG elements to appeal to a wider audience. It's not as braindead as Skyrim is, but the RPG elements aren't as front and center as Morrowind or Daggerfall.

Now, after you play a decent amount of Oblivion, ask yourself this:

1.Did you enjoy the RPG stuff?

2.Did you not enjoy the RPG stuff, but liked the exploration and sidequests?

If you answered with 1, try Morrowind and if you like it enough give Daggerfall a try, too. I wouldn't bother with Arena because it's just a shittier version of Daggerfall.

If you answered with 2, play Skyrim but don't bother with the rest of the series.

If you answered with neither, play Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas because they're vastly superior games :^)
