That would have been something cool and not frequently done, especially as an FPS like Prey. This was just Arkane doing what they always do, taking a classic fps/sim/whatever and remaking it competently but without charm.

Was it specifically open world? I thought it wasn't specifically stated, it could be hub-based. There aren't a lot of high-space fiction games where you play the one human bounty hunter in a city full of hostile aliens. The closest would be the Django Fett game and Stranger's Wrath but those were more action games with bounty hunting as a plot detail. Ultimately we don't know what Prey 2 would have been. Star Wars-tier space fiction isn't done all that much in video games so just by that it would have been more novel than System Shock 3.

It's a somewhat boring game. The combat's pretty shit and the spaceship theme was obviously chosen so they wouldn't have to make actual levels. At best, 6/10.

It's just overhyped because it harks back to better games like SS2.
