Yeah whatever dude anyone can edit a Wikipedia article.

iirc the right analogue was strafe and look up/down
the left analogue was look left/right and up/down was forward/backwards with double tappbg back for turn 180.
It wasn't exactly like modern fps games, but it really made the game scary, the control scheme and the lighting

Those people were right. Literally the only reason I use Steam is because damn near every PC game forces it on you now.

Why lock yourself into a rental system that's updater is shit and freezes regularly?
>>387393649
I just don't play games that require steam. There's plenty games to play.
>>387395512
With modern releases nowadays, what doesn't require it?
>>387392236
so it's just tank controls with a second stick to strafe
if only we had laughed at people for playing first person shooters on a handheld controller
we could have held back the normies for a few more years
>>387391979
Believe it or not kid, there was a time before this control scheme. PS1 didn't have analogue sticks. N64 had a single stick. Two sticks and the modern move/look configuration didn't really take off until PS2/Xbox. I actually remember having real trouble adapting to Halo on the Xbox after having played shit like this.

Name some popular new titles that don't require steam???
>>387392091
Best part of that review is the final paragraph detailing the recently (in 2000) announced Alien: Colonial Marine game coming to PS2 soon.
Little did they know...

Great manly console FPS like Turok already had the right idea.
The thought of having to play a foster with a controller is pretty terrifing

>super pissed off that I can't play my half-life 1 multiplayer anymore

>super clunky, slow, and puts my computer on it's knees

Of course I have bought some retro games for PC for their nostalgia value, but even those are simpler to play with downloading them in 1 second and instantly launching them in dosbox. I kinda hate myself for being part of this DRM shit. At least I don't buy any DLC.
