post your ships

I found this thing on a planet surrounded by a galactic space battle, nearly got demolished trying to get through it. Named it the Wombat.

Don't have a screenshot atm but I bought a ship from a Korvax trader that looks very close to an X-Wing.

How the fuck do you make money in this game? I want to buy a Freighter.

I've been scavenging crashed Freighters as of now, they usually have around 5 or so safes in them that only need Iron to fix, and each one holds like 30,000-70,000 Units or 70-100 Nanite Clusters
>>
>>387374143
Anyone playing knows how shit the game is and no patch will fix that.

I wonder how big a server would have to be for the whole universe to run at the same time in that game so it everyone can meet each other like that hello games guy said. Is it even posinle

Hell it would be great if the company made thosands of mods who had the ability to modify planets and animals so the fucked up ones could be fixed
>>
>>387374787
They really need to allow modders to add their own blueprints into the procedural pools. The game's problem is that there just isn't enough variety because one team of developers can only make so many blueprints.

If you had a modding scene on par with something like Skyrim you theoretically have enough blueprints to add to the procedural pool that your game would look very different.

Different ships, animals, flora, guns, planets, climates, biomes, solar systems, etc.
>>
>>387374787
It just simulates the bubble in which each player is and sync it when players are in close proximity. It's not rocket science. Elite does it too.
>>
>>387374318
Nah, it's pretty good now. But by all means follow the hivemind and post dank memes.
>>
>>387374787
I'm 90% proper multiplayer hasn't been implemented is due to the frame rate issues that come with lots of people converging together on one place. They're only discovering that issue now with Portals and the Galactic Hub, where everyone converged in one area to spawn their portals. If you try and go there in your own Portal you will get like 10FPS on the planet.

It's similar to Base Building if you take off number limitations, you can build a colony the size of a small village but your FPS will tank heavily. Hello Games really need to sort of optimizing it.

its one guy trying a new approach after being called out about blatant shilling last week. he stopped making threads saying its no longer shit as has moved on to acting like its something people discuss regularly.

the GAME is great now. The issue is performance. My god my fucking PC can run most new games at high/ultra 60 fps, no fps drops, etc.

With no mans sky, it drops to 40 fps, sometimes it drops to 0 fps when entering planet atmospheres. I was forced to buy the game on PS4.

Why cant they fix the horrible performance issues in the game? The last patch was great, they just need to work on performance now

>Guess what, /v/ bitches about bad games
/v/ bitches about bad games but there are also plenty who bitch about even great games, let alone merely good games or games that started mediocre but have since gotten a lot better. Yeah, some of them are just trolls, but there are plenty of mentally-tween ebin rebels, edgy cynical shitposters, jackass autists and utterly insufferable faggots too. Mobile thread from earlier today had a great example of one.

Yes, /v/ bitches more about flaws then not. But /v/ also bitches heavily about how a game is "bad" merely because it didn't live up to their expectations which are often retardedly over inflated. Anyone calling NMS (particularly now) a "bad game" has NEVER ACTUALLY PLAYED A GENUINELY BAD GAME, or else has mercifully blocked it from their memories. Sections of /v/ often hate anything that gets too popular, or that is "wrong fun". Don't try to pretend this place doesn't go overboard much of the time. That doesn't make it bad overall by any means but it's shit to go through for the gems.

>>387379590
Well in essence, it's an MMO that you have the option to play online.

If you don't like battles, you can explore, truck, mine, ect.

Also buy an audio book or listen to a stream because the approach vectors are airplane simulator realistic and that you will spend most of your time, slowly approaching your destination while slowing down, otherwise, it's like actual space where you can easily overshoot your destination because of how massive it is.

You're also more likely to get shot at by bots than actual people.

This game, man.

I barely thought it would live up to the hype, let alone exceed it. I've been playing for four hours straight across only two systems and about five planets/moons, and it has been absolutely and utterly humbling. My breath is being taken away at every turn.

I just drowned trying desperately to make my way out of a dark underwater cave on a cold, lonely, massive planet, with ominous growling startling me from far across some rocky, eroded mountains against the backdrop of a massive dark blue system. Earlier I was marveling at a herd of grazing antelope-like creatures on a little yellow paradise of a moon with a pink sky. Creatures were screeching in the distance and tinkling piano chords played in the background.

I very much appreciate the technical and leveling aspects such as mining and trading, but most of all, this game has been an extremely emotional experience for me so far. I could barely pull myself away from my first system once I acquired the warp cell. No matter what I'm looking at, I have this excitement and this wonder and frustration that I am inevitably missing so much. I have never, EVER felt this lost. Space just beckons, wordlessly. What a beautiful, beautiful, titanic game. I have no words.

Enjoy, everyone. And thank you, Sean and Hello Games. Jeez Louise.

You're a fucking retard. You really think NMS is "worst in the industry"? Worse then DUNGEON KEEPER MOBILE? Take your EBIN HAET MACHINE XD and fuck off for a few days. God damn. Seriously anon what was even going through your head writing that? You really need to step back and reevaluate because what the fuck.

You.

Yes, you. The one screaming, "There's no multiplayer!" and "Sean Murray lied to us!" and other slurs I dare not mention. Tread lightly.

You are one. We are hundreds, thousands. Millions. You aren't just IN the minority; you ARE the minority.

I don't feel awkward or anxious playing No Man's Sky around others, and your words don't affect me. Many others, however, are coming out of their shells for the first time in their lives. This is the first time many are enjoying the beautiful world that has been procedurally generated for us - and it IS beautiful. Incredibly so. DON'T ruin this for them. We No Man's Sky fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow explorers, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us all together.

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't hate you. I don't fear you. I pity you.

I'm sorry that you feel this way towards us. I'm sorry that No Man's Sky is such a bane to your existence. And I'm sorry that you are missing out on such a wonderful experience. Mostly, though, I'm sorry that you feel the need to go around and publicly chastise and berate others. I'm sorry that, to ensure your own validity, you need to make others feel invalid. I'm sorry that your self-worth is so infinitesimally miniscule that you have to make others feel less-than-human, at least in your own denatured mind, just to feel whole. I am truly sorry that day-in and day-out you have to put up with your worthless, meaningless, Shakespearean tragedy of a life.

I ask you politely to cease your unnecessary cries for attention, and instead invite you to join our ranks. Uninstall Call of Duty, start up No Man's Sky, and breathe in the splendour and the amazement of your first planet, and then, maybe, just maybe, you'll see what you've been so hopelessly searching for this whole time.

There's a difference between making a f2p game and outright lying about the contents of your product, which is what Sean "The Amazing Unemployable" Murray did.
>>
>>387379738
Well I'm not paying them for the fuck up, but making the correct move even with the reputation being nonredeemable. It shows not only to this shitty studio, but to all that they will make more money giving the customer base what they were wanting instead of an empty pointless sandbox.

The game has long fucking since made its money back. You don't know dick about how the games industry works, clearly.
There are so many goddamn hacks in the game industry that continue to get work, and you think Murray will somehow lose his ass? At worst, he ends up at another company, and doesn't have his name at the top of the billing.
The end.
Denis Dyack was openly picking fights with the producers bankrolling him, and it took how many years for SK to die?

>They're both just as shit.
No anon. Just stop. There is a spectrum here. They are not remotely equivalent. At the end of the day NMS was a new IP. There is a hard limit to how "shit" a new IP can ever be, because it's new. If it's bad fine, it'll fail and get no further work/sequels, no other harm done. Players who preordered took a gamble and lost a tiny amount. Those who waited knew (or should have known) what they were getting into. The industry like any creative industry has mostly failures and mediocrity in new stuff, it's hard to get it right. Failures, bankruptcy and so forth aren't inherently bad, success is the other side of that same coin. It's not evil.

Evil are practices like pure cynical skinner boxes, devoid of any effort or redeeming value. Evil is trying to control all potential avenues of player interaction or creativity for maximum monetization. Evil is making a business of using a foundation of lies to power leveraged acquisition of quality IPs others have built up and then ruthlessly driving them into the ground while squeezing them of any value. There is evil in the game industry and shit like NMS doesn't even remotely scratch evil's foot.

They swindled people out of their 60 bucks by lying about the content of the game. You cannot patch that fact away. It doesn't somehow magically become retroactively untrue.
>>
>>387384234
You're right, but that doesn't apply to core product itself. Sean can be a douche, but his game is still fixable and 1.3 is proof of that.

I'd imagine. They made a big deal about the Foundation update being a new beginning, I can't see them releasing one big patch after that and letting it out to pasture.
>>387385310
Not everyone is so poor that $25 puts them in the almshouse. It's almost like something being on sale makes it less risky to purchase. Weird.
