I calculated the number of hours needed to finish my backlog with how long to beat and came up with something far below the number cited there

Dude, I literally just beat BotW for the first time after playing it since one day before the official release date. I still haven't really touched Nier or Nioh. Then the new Sonic is out now too, plus dozens of indies and other random stuff I picked up earlier this year. I still have a bunch of Wii U games to play, most of which still are wrapped in plastic. And that's just the newish stuff...

Playing and or selling off my backlog going back to genesis/snes was one of the best feelings. I'm 34 and got tired of having all these old games. Last summer I made about two thousand just selling ghe shit off. I even deleted a lot of digital games that I kinda had no interest in playing which made choosing what to play much easier.

Only buy games if you're going to play them immediately. The thrill of a sale or bundle purchase is always negated by the regret of never playing it. I have way more fun with every game now, and I save money.

What should I play when taking breaks from P5?

I'm playing Bayonetta and I feel like I suck or something but I was great at Revengeance. Did anyone else have a problem with the camera and lock on in Bayonetta?

I've still to give Nier a proper go but I enjoyed the little that I've played of it (assuming you're talking about Automata). RE6 is trash and I say that as a huge fan of the franchise.

I've completed most of my mine since I haven't even bought a new console yet.

The past 2 years I've been going through the classics, the latest was Deus Ex.

What's left is Fallout 2 and Baldur's gate but RPG's aren't my preferred genre so I'll take my time.

A bit tired of old games now though, I'm dying to play some games with my homies again, forgot how much I enjoyed those days after school playing vidya with the lads.

NieR is fantastic and pretty short. Plus you could take breaks between endings if you choose. Also a quick tip, near the end of your C ending playthrough, save before the end in a different slot than after you've beaten it. Ending D is just a different choice than C so after you beat C you can just load up the save you have at the last save point before C/D end and just pick D this time.

Automata does the same choice ending but it saves by chapters, so you can reselect the chapter that gives you the choice

From a gameplay respective, 100% better. Story-telling wise, it's pretty different from og nier. I personally prefer og nier, but there's a lot to like about the new one, it's much more similar to Drakengard. If you liked the original nier, you at least won't be disappointed with automata
