ITT: the best games of their respective series
Aw yeah
>>387362771
>SMD
>best
Explorers of Sky still has the top spot.
>>387363049
>worse combat
>half the pokemon and moves
>less postgame content
>worse graphics
>worse OST
>>387363151
Super was shit m8. Better than Gates and Red/Blue, but that's it.
>>387362771
Wrong
>>387362771
>super mystery dungeon
>best in the series
some opinions are so trash they should be ban worthy
There's no such thing as a good Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game.
>>387363049
This.
>>387363151
>less postgame content
You're kidding right? Super's story was overlong and boring and the postgame was vacuous.
>>387363407
Gates is not representative of the entire series, anon.
>>387362771
NO FUCK YOU
>>387363469
I've played all of them and they're all equally bad.
>>387363345
you're the reason why i believe people should have to earn the right to opinions
>>387363407
that doesn't mean there can't be a best game in the series
thank you for your input you fucking moron
>>387362905
>>387363514
>I've played all of them
Why?
>>387363523
>mad cuz bad
>>387363697
To see if they ever managed to make the games not suck. What's even worse is that they keep reusing the exact same plot setup for every single game.
>What the hell, I'm a human that got turned into a Pokemon, how did this happen? I have amnesia!
>>387363815
The trailers should be enough to understand that all the games in the series are pretty much the same thing
>>387362771
I guess it's the best PMD but it's neither the best P or MD if that's your angle
>>387363935
Then why do they keep remaking the same game? That's a waste of resources.
It's pic related for Pokemon.
Soul Silver, Platinum, and Black/White 2 are also respectable choices. The DS is pure Pokemon kino. With 3DS having the absolute worst games in the series. XY and SM are both worst than Diamon and Pearl.
>>387364003
I don't know, ask any long running series that.
Explorers is literally babby's first PMD. No wonder so many borderline-underageb& love it.
>>387364734
>I have no arguments and I must shitpost
SMD > Sky > RT > GtI
All four games are great. Sky has the best ending, GtI second just because of the implications of leaving the pokemon world. SMD has the best difficulty. All of the music is fantastic.I just played the 5th special episode for the first time last weekend after beating Sky months ago. I'm so glad the others got a happy ending.
>>387363151
>less postgame content
I was with you until this
Explorers pretty much has a 2nd campaign. Super's postgame is its weakest point.
>>387365385
The majority of Supers content is in its postgame. The campaign takes ~20 hours and then theres 70-80 hours worth of postgame dungeons
>>387363815
>I have amnesia
In Gates you don't have amnesia, actually.
And the amnesia isn't really all that important to the overall plot.
>>387363407
Nope
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games (when at their best) are fantastic gems of games.
>music utilizes a polyphony to have more complex, less repetitive tunes
>gameplay discourages grinding in favor of learning to properly prepare before dungeon crawling and learning to utilize your items properly
>because of the randomization, you are kept on your toes and must be prepared for any possible situation
>levels have very little meaning with regards to your ability to win
>characters are always well fleshed out and distinct between each other, having backstories and histories that make them who they are
>traveling with your partner the whole game makes it easier to get attached to him/her beyond the characterization, thus making it easier for the player to care about the events that occur to them
PMD games are some of the best games out there. Pic related is best twist.
>>387365654
But they're just dungeons/quests. They lack any real reason to go explore them beyond finding legendaries to fight and/or Pokemon to recruit.
>>387364002
It is definitely the best P
There is nothing normal Pokemon games do better. The biggest problem with mainline Pokemon games is that they don't focus on the thing that makes Pokemon interesting: the Pokemon themselves. So instead of fleshing out and wondering how these Pokemon's powers affect their world, you just have humans controlling them and plots about the legendaries since legendaries are the only Pokemon in mainline Pokemon games that actually affect the happenings of the world in any way.
>>387362771
fight me
>>387362771
>Spyro
First game, followed closely by 2 and 3
>Crash Bandicoot
Cortex Strikes Back (and CTR)
>Sly Cooper
Band of Thieves
>Sam and Max
Devil's Playhouse
>>387366231
Is it really that good I kinda dropped it after the first baal fight?
>>387366231
Second was pretty gud. Had more fun combos and stuff.
>>387366518
wow you are missing a lot of the best stuff in the game.
play it, you will not regret it.
>>387366579
Then I'll pick it up again one of these days
super a shit for the sole reason that your party doesn't form naturally and as a group, you're forced to use different party members that you get from that terrible grid system and recharge thing, forcing you to use more powerful ones less. You can't have multiple same pokemon, you can't recruit them on the fly in missions (there aren't any board missions at all really, severely limiting the content), and they don't appear in story missions along with you and your partner, there's also no IQ system
>>387367240
IQ system wasn't the best since it only came down to grinding gummies for IQ, but otherwise I agree with you.
