Supposedly pretty much everything will be destructible and the processing is being done server side so most likely scenario is that the Xbone or at least the base one can't handle it so they are offloading that to the server handling your multiplayer session. It would also be too expensive for them to provide individual servers for every player in single player.

Obviously lack of power is not an issue on PC but with the way Microsoft is about their PC version they won't give them the option in single player either.

Its not a remake, its a port that only had its resolution capability increased. No improved textures, no redone gameplay, nothing. For a free product, it isnt bad, but what we were shown at E3 2014 was a trailer for a true remake/reboot of the game. And the kicker is that the studio working on it had no clue the trailer was made, and their vision of the game was more in line with the original than the modern day take the trailer showed.

Red Faction managed to do it by being set in a rather barren location with clusters of buildings separated away from each other relatively well. Throw that style of destruction into C3 and you might as well wait for it to render overnight like a Blender 3D physics demonstration.
