I wouldn't say "really detailed" but refined for sure, everything about Waluigi makes him look shady and slimy
Nintendo does a great job of making a character's role recognizable from a glance

Nintendo polish is probably the best polish in all of video games. They take that extra time to really hit home things like this where other devs may spend it elsewhere

I hate how when devs first realize they can use textures on models without it looking awful, the first thing they do is make the texture far too large just to make sure you fucking notice it. It looks awful.

For a small while they had giant goofy glove fabric and too-detailed quills on Sonic renders.
