It's so that stores and warehouses don't fucking end up with hundreds or thousands of unmoved units for whatever platform is currently underperforming. The publisher doesn't have to figure out how many Xbox, Playstation, and PC special editions they need to make, and delegate accordingly. You feel ripped of? I got mine through special order through Media Markt for fucking 100 dollaridoos (1000sek). I got pissed when I saw how small the box was and even madder when I saw that the statue was smaller than a drinking glass, not 15 - 30cm like in the pic. And the straw that broke the camel's back was the broken piece of shit game with difficulty spikes and broken combat. I sold the game to my local game stop for 1 dollar (10sek). I didn't care, I just wanted to get rid of it. The Duke Nukem "statue" is the only collectors item lying in the attic and isn't part of my collection. From that day forth I vowed to never by another gearbox game again and I'm sticking to that by not buying this game even though I was kinda looking forward to it.
