Kind of.

Irrelevant now though, since they sequel baited so hard and released a half game, the series is fucking done.

Deus Ex didn't deserve this.

Shame.
>>
No, but GMDX is.
>>
>>387331520
Human Revolution was way better polished game and more full featured.

>>387331520
No.
>>

>>387331829
i really enjoyed DXHR, i consider it to be one of my favourite games, but the piss poor performance issues on PC and half a game ruined DXMD.

RIP Deus Ex
>>
it was ok. had a lot of potential but they blew it

deus ex > human revolution > mankind divided
>>
>>387331978
This.
People who can't tell the difference baffle me. It's like they don't have eyes.
>>
>>387331520
It was ok if it had a follow up game. Now that there will be none even though the game was set up for one it's kind of a shitty game.
>>
>>387331920
What a shame.
>>
>>387331520
Hub was top tier, too bad they didnt have enough time to finish the game
>>
Some of the greatest sidequests in gaming, and the way that the game weaves all of them together is fantastic.
Also being forced to choose between main quest 11 and 12, and not being able to do both, was a stroke if genius.

I LOVE this fucking game and can't fathom why there's so much hate.
I have replayed maybe 10 games in my life because I just can't stand doing the same shit twice [I replayed DX1 but not HR for example] but I replayed this game immediately upon completion because choices actually impact the story.
The ending is the same but everything leading there can be hugely different [getting the Mafia to cease fire on you].
>>
Yes. 7/10, 6/10 if you're a storyfag.
>>
>>387331520
I liked it, got a good 40 hours or so out of it

Also ran fine for me almost maxed on a 6 year old 2500k and 3 year old 970 so dunno where these unoptimized memes come from, amd bulldozer fags?
>>
>>387331520
It has it's moments. The ending... is not one of those moments.

Yeah, I follow.
>>
I never had performance issues, and really enjoyed the side quests. But yes, the only real issue I have with it is the sequel baiting and the main story is kinda shit in general
>>
>>387331520
I have mixed feelings. It controlled well, had some very intricately laid out levels with a lot to explore, and the sidequests were great in how they chained together and had meaningful stories. On the downside the main story was weak, characters were pretty flat, and the game ended on a cliffhanger that only happened because it was cut in half. It's a shame, because it had the makings of a better sequel to HR.

The way this game handles sidequests reminded me very much of VtMB.
Shame the main story was kind of shit.
Honestly I wouldn't mind the entire game being about an auged up cop doing all kinds of investigation work like ghost in the shell stand alone complex.
>>
>>387331920
>sequel baited
It's not even that, the game actually ends about 1/3 of the way through. I don't have the link but there was an article about how Square told them to cut the game up to make MD into a trilogy.
>>
>>387332818
A Deus Ex style detective game would be pretty neat.
>>
>>387332698
It's just way too stylized, so much form without function that it's unbearable.

The themes suffer from this as well, it's like the developers lived in their own little bubble.

>Hey Frank, what's like, uh, discrimination?
>I don't know it's probably like that racism thing I guess? That's bad yeah haha remember the bus thing yeah yeah that's great hand me the pine resin mmm this is the stuff.
>>
>>387331520
it was better than HR
>>
It took me longer to finish than Human Revolution did, but most of it felt like filler sidequests and the ending felt as if they actually took the game and cut it up in the middle, to sell the second half of the fucking story as DLC or the next game and it actually felt like there were less weapons and shit than in the previous game
>>

>>387333998
Here you go.
>>
>>387333998
Did you even play the game?
Jensen's hair is darker, Sarif tells you you don't have the augs he implanted on you, the post credits cutscene pretty much reveals that you're a rebuilt clone of Jensen after the true Jensen died in Panchea witih his memories implanted.
MD's Jensen is a prototype for the Men In Black from DX1.
>>
>>387333998
Yes it is
Actual spoilers: If you look in the Versa Life vault in the Palasade bank there is a crate in the corner with a body that is identical to Adam's but without the augs. Sarif also confirms the augs in Adam's body are NOT the same ones as the previous game. You are a clone of the original Adam. Basically Pancha blows up and Adam dies, the Illuminati clone him and for whatever reason the clone is let loose but under the watchful eye of the Illuminati.
None of this is really explained and that's a symptom of the game being cut into pieces

I played HR and MD just a few weeks ago. MD is far more polished. During my HR playthrough there were small tweaks I kept wishing for and was surprised when I found them in MD. Almost everything is an upgrade, mechanically speaking, so I enjoyed playing MD more than HR. Which game has the better story is debateable and the only complaint I have about MD is how long the loading times are. The game runs and looks great but there's a fast travel system used to move around the game's world. It's a subway system and on my rig the game always took ages to load here. It made completely certain that I would never go back and replay the game just because of the extremely long loading times on the subway. i54460, GTX 970, 16 GB RAM.
>>
>>387334734
I think they created the clone, got him close to the Juggernaut Collective, and used Jensen clone to gain their trust and eventually find them to shut them down.
>>
I wish more games pitted you against global conspiracies. Hell, I wish MD actually let you do that instead of being a le mind controlled errand boy unable to change the timeline.

>>387334095
It sold poorly and had huge consumer backlash attached to it, now the series is on 'hiatus' and Eidos is working on capeshit
Best case senario they come back with a new game next gen and continue Adam's story, worst case they spend a decade on milking the IP and they risk it on ANOTHER reboot

It was good, but there should have been more hubs than just Prague and a bit longer.

It's worse than HR but it does some things better IMHO.

MD had better side quests, settings, gameplay and level design.
In the end it basically boils down to preference.

I played on the hardest difficulty and this game was a fucking cakewalk. I always had a surplus of ammo and level up points, never got detected, and never died the entire game. Stealth is just too easy. I wonder if I'm just good because no one else had this complaint.
Either way the world was well designed and comfy and gameplay was polished, however the story was fucking terrible.
>>
>>387337670
As usual the publishers probably had massively inflated sales projections that the game didn't get close to so the franchise has probably been shelved
>>
>>387337980
It sold like absolute shit and have some pretty mediocre reviews. Also they need teams to focus and get the more out of the avengers licenses before they expire

We might have to wait just as much as we did from Invisible war to HR
>>
>>387338063
Did you turn off the minimap and all that shit? The game is still too easy for sure but don't tell me you used see through walls bullshit then complained that it was easy
>>
>>387338063
Every single new "Stealth game" with any kind of super powers feel easy as fuck and you literally need to hold yourself back.

Dishonored 1 and 2 are a fucking joke even with the base and "weakest" power
Deus Ex HR/MD need you to ignore several upgrade paths. If you ever dare to get the invisibility cloak your playthrough's fun and challenge are basically over.

>>387338229
This shouldn't be the player's fault honestly, it's a very big problem with balancing that devs seem to not be able to figure out
>>
>>387338229
I didn't turn the mini map off because I didn't know you could, but that's not why it's easy. It's easy because the level design is simple and ai is retarded and predictable. Not many ways you can mix up the gameplay. And I didn't use any of that crutch wall hacks bullshit, in fact, I think I didn't use any powers or level any powers the whole game.
>>
>>387332930
why
HR had the same problem. It was WAY too short. You go from "corporate espionage by dirty chinks" to Serif directly telling you "IT WAS THE ILLUMINATI"
>>
Exploring Prague was really great, the game is just full of neat and clever details and mini storylines, it's always a joy to snoop through people's shit and discover their dirty little secrets and later on realize they were connected to another character or story somehow. Everything is connected and it makes the world feel so alive. It doesn't advance the plot nor does it give you meaningful loot most of the time but that's the main appeal of the game. The ending gets a lot of shit but I thought it was still strong, with the two situations happening simultaneously, the brain bomb trigger being hidden previously, having the choice to give the antidote to the chief instead of the guests etc. I liked that more than panchea.
>>
>>387331805
My first playthrough was around 40 hours and the narrative was completly wrapped up. Why do people claim it's short?
