It's simply a simple way for the brain to understand Quantum mechanics.
In a quantum space, you can be both and neither at the same time until you observe it.

For example, photons shot on a receptors behave one way, until they are observed, which then make them behave an another way.

Why is a thing able to change his behavior simply by being looked at.

Here a simple video to understand.

Batman isn't the only powerless hero in DC and most of his rogues are the same way. Plus he doesn't have to prove himself to anybody and is a billionaire with gadgets.

Deku on the other hand is trying to enter a professional where having a power is standardised and both his competition and villains can do superhuman things. It's not really a comparison.

The best parts of the manga were when Deku couldn't use his quirk and had to improvise. Ever since he went 'full cowl', it's become DBZ with him pulling excess power from his ass and winning by brute force. Boring.

Quantum mechanics couldn't explain why electrons behaved as particles when observed and waves when not observed (see double slit experiment), so they just said that the observer being present directly effects the outcome of the electrons state

Then some guy said, "hey, thats fucking stupid, does that mean if I put a cat in a box and dont look at it we cant know what state its in?"

But i disagree a little: If a block is a block, per my experience as a delivery deliveour, than thats still easier to find stuff, because you need to find the block, instead of guessing streets.
>>
>>387337731
It's a shit way of representing how subatomic particles act.

When only measuring the aftermath of subatomic shit, it looks like they act a probability wave that interacts with itself. But when we try to observe subatomic shit as it happens, the subatomic shit acts as regular particles that do regular shit.
>>
>>387339220
>Ever since he went 'full cowl', it's become DBZ with him pulling excess power from his ass and winning by brute force. Boring.
that's why jojo, except part 3 and to a lesser extent 2 is so entertaining
>>
>>387339859
First, you need to know where the block is. It's not on a street. It's a Block. So you NEED to know that this block is next to this and this block.
Then you need to know that the house you are looking for is where on the block, because it could be a new house, or a old house.

Streets have the simplicity of being simple. 1 is after 2 and then 3... in a block, you might go around it multiple time to look for the actual house you look for.
>>
>>387338194
basically once you get to the quantum level you can only describe things as a combination of quantum states which represent the probabilities that, if at a given instant you were to observe the entity, it would be in state 1, state 2, state 3, etc. But for it to actively settle on a state requires it to be observed. So the idea is if you haven't looked in the box yet the cat is in a superposition of two states (alive or dead) of equal probabilities.

There's other stuff about the power of observation, like the relationship between a particle's momentum and position. The more accurately you observe a particle's momentum, the less accurate your observations of that particle's position become, and vice versa. It's impossible to know both at the same time.

>Streets have the simplicity of being simple
Plz god no.
They may or may not split at any intersection.
May or may not be renamed after a road cuts trough it. May or may not end ANYWHERE it intersects with ANYTHING.
My personal favorite is grid cities that doesn't have each grid with one name, but like several areas of names. So you might have a piece of the grid be named Dull Road, Slayer Avenue, Southwestern Harbor, etc. With their own number systems, and randomly built houses, where newer houses might use non ordered numbers.

Like, the only thing of value a street provides, is that the information ends up on a map, and that houses might be marked. And special emphasis on that last one: MIGHT BE MARKED
>>
>>387337731
It's a very shitty example actually, you'll understand the main deal with quantum physics if you plain read the actual thing. Not even kidding, no professor will touch that stupid meme cat aside saying "you probably know about this thing".

Of all funny and interesting things you could talk abuot for some reason the cat got popular, I assume because cats are meme animals.
>>
>>387339220

>implying we still don't have those moments occasionally

It's not even that bad since whenever he get's some kind of handle with his power he still goes through hurdles trying to manage, practice, learn, and utilize it effectively.

Besides that he still has his head he relied on when he was quirkless and still relies on quite a bit for problems going "full cowl" won't work.
>>
>>387330172
Only in shitty games.
In good ones it makes the stakes even higher. Especially when it turns out the multiverse is a new and unstable thing, all of the worlds are steadily disintegrating, and the only way to delay the inevitable is to try to follow the original world's timeline as closely as possible.
Now there's:
>Two ideologically opposed worlds at war over who gets to be the new prime world as the rest of the multiverse dies
>Multiple versions of characters, sometimes allied, sometimes enemies, sometimes trusting you to pass on their dying world's research notes to your world's version.
>Characters who were dead, but are now alive due to time shenanigans or history diverging from the one where they died
>Characters who shouldn't exist at all(one's mom died before she was even conceived in the original world) but do in the new divergent timelines

Reminder that you are literally incapable of dying. No matter what happens, you will continue to exist. Forever. If you try to shoot yourself in the head, it will be a dud every time or you will be miraculously saved. If you hang yourself, the rope will snap. If you jump off a bridge, you will wake up on the shore. Other people will see you die, but suffering is eternal.

I was more asking, and i paraphrase because i don't remember the exact words, "what other animes do similar stuff because as far as i know it's kinda rare, i know this one and this one but i haven't been able to find much else like it"
But now i wonder, if you can't ask about anime with a particular content (doubly so if one of those that would fit the definition is some barely known thing from the 80's), what the fuck do you talk about? How you want to lick hamster ass?

>Actually it's a thought experiment to make a mockery of observer-dependence.
You are apparently the only person in the thread who knows what the damn thing is about.

>>387337731
As sadly only ONE person in the thread correctly stated, it's a joke that mocks the idea of super-position in quantum physics, or more precisely that highlights how difficult it is to align quantum physics with our most basic intuitions about the world.

As others described, Schrodinger proposed that a cat would be placed in a box with a vial of poison. There is also a single atom of highly radioactive, unstable element, and a geiger counter that measures the radioactivity. The way that radioactive particles work is that they release their own energy and mass (that is what the radiation is - it's literally the particle "leaking" or "burning away". Unstability of the element means that over time, it will transform into a different one - in this case by radiating part of own energy and mass away. Once the element transforms, it will stop radiating. The gieger counter will pick that up, and it will trigger the vial of poison to release and kill the cat.

The problem is: radioactive decay is tied to the superpositionality of sub-atomic particles. Basically, the math tells us the sub-atomic particle that determines if the atom is still radioactive or not can maintain both "being still active" and "not being active" at the same time until "collapsing" to one of the two states definitiely.
That means that the particle can be both radioactive and not radioactive at the same time, and that means that the vial of poison can be both closed and opened at the same time, and that means the cat is both dead and alive at the same time.

But obvious, the idea of being both dead and alive at the same time is hugely counter-intuitive. Which suggest that either the math behind quantum superpositionality is WRONG, or our intuitions are wrong.
And that is the point of this thought experiment.

You fire 1 (one) electron.
If you do not check anything until the end of the experiment, it existed in more than one place at a time and interfered with itself.
If you measure it as it is moving, you only see one.

A quirkless Deku beating people wouldn't make sense though. You can't make a powerless character defeat a super powered character without

1. The powerless character coming off as some intellectual genius that can outsmart everyone

2. The characters he fights coming off as complete idiots

It's a moral lesson that doesn't really make any sense in the context of that universe. It would be like having an MMA manga about a man who has no legs trying to compete in the MMA.

>1. The powerless character coming off as some intellectual genius that can outsmart everyone
You don't need to be a genous though.
You just need to learn to play dirty. You can't win in a straight fight? Simple, don't give him a straight fight in the first place.
Poison, sniper rifle, IED his car, hire a thug to go and shot him in the back of the head mafia style, etc etc

>So literally removing the sensor while a machine is shooting light at the double slit makes the interference pattern turn into a double slit pattern?
No, not really. That is not how quantum physics work at all. The video about the double-slit experiment is actually INCORRECT too.

The claim that when observing, the interference patter disappears is false. It's a misrepresentation Feynman's THOUGHT EXPERIMENT that if detectors were placed by both slits, the interference pattern would disappear.
That is not what really happens. The light or electrons will ALWAYS form an interference pattern on the detection surface, suggesting that the electron has to pass both slits at the same time and interfere with itself.
However, a detector placed on the slit will detect it coming through either one, or another, not both at the same time.
Meaning that the data from the detector will differ from the pattern on the detection wall - the detector will identify a single electron passing through only one of the slits (e.g. demonstrating a particle-like properties), but the detection wall will still demonstrate an interference pattern, demonstrating wave-like properties.

But it's not like watching the experiment will cause the spread pattern to change. You can't ever force light or electrons to pass a double slit and then imprint of a surface WITHOUT getting an interference pattern.

You can measure the individual electron at any random point of his journey, and it will always detect it as a particle - but then it will suddenly land somewhere where it should have not been able to.

Meaning that the detection gives us incomplete information. Not that it really "knows" if it's being observed.
