Is it considered okay to do something you're bad and unable to get better at, as long as you can find something entertaining about it?
Because I've felt a lot lately that BECAUSE I am bad at some games, they're inherently not entertaining and I give up right away when I realize this, instead of just playing at my low skill level and having fun with what I can.

Stage 3 is when I quit every multiplayer game I've played too.

I started getting chump change prize money in tournaments then I use it to buy singleplayer games.

Chasing leaderboards is not a sustainable goal if you get bored easily and enjoy playing new games.

I stopped playing Dota after hitting 6k, Overwatch after t500. Team games in general require so much commitment and organization with other people. The expectation on yourself to practice is inherently higher than in solo games. So now the only games I play competitively are Quake duels and Brood War. Even then it's just for personal enjoyment.

It's totally ok because for most games you're in the intended audience. Overwatch is the prime example.
For it to be worthwhile you have to enjoy the competition and improvement that comes with getting better at the game, far more than the actual enjoyment of the game. Ranked ladder is for the most part not entertaining at all. Self improvement and achieving goals is how many people find enjoyment out of multiplayer game.
