Post your reaction when.......Oil Ocean Zone
>>387326591I always liked Oil Ocean

I liked it, same reaction from me. Didn't expect it at all
Lowtiergod loves Oil Ocean's music
>>387326591
>fire shield effect
>>387326591
I always enjoyed Oil Ocean honestly and the fire effects were a nice touch. That boss fucked me up more than any other though
>Titantic Monarch zone
>That fucking robot in the background
>>387326591
I never understood the hate for Oil Ocean, it was a pretty inoffensive zone in the original - nowhere near as cheap/casual-filter as Metropolis Zone and nowhere near as generic/boring as the likes of Hill Top Zone. Why does it have such a bad rep on /v/ all of a sudden?
ok then
>>387326591
I've always fucking hated that zone. It'd be the worst zone in the game if the first act of Mirage Saloon didn't exist.
Fucking Sky Chase clone where you can fucking fall off the plane right before the checkpoint.
At first I simply thought "Sure, okay, I guess we're doing this" and then I found the fire shield and shit went off the fan
Personally I was hoping forMetropolis Zone

FUCKING
SLICERS
>Everyone in Mania threads saying how God awful OOZ is in this game
>Finally get to it
>Breeze through both acts and generally enjoy it
I swear /v/ has the worst tastes
>>387330140
It was the smoothest zone to go through after green hill zone
They took two of the most frustrating levels and slapped them together the absolute madmen.
OOZ2 is my favourite track in the game.
>>387326591
>oil ocean, metropolis, and sandopolis all fused together
fucked up
>>387326591
>Oil Ocean Zone
Why do people pretend to hate this zone?
You can literally cheese it just by spindashing
>>387333819
Its not an interesting or fun zone. There's nothing wrong with it, but its kinda just there, you go through it and not remember anything that was in it aside those balls that launch you around.
>>387333819
For me, not visually up to par with the other zones, and the mechanics are a lot more "wait here then do thing" or "get pulled along without actually consciously moving through the stage" kinda shit, combine that with sandopolis' anti-speed screen obscuring and you have a generally unpleasant time, though i'll admit that swimming through the oil to get to the special stage was neat
>>387333819
>it's not hard so anyone who doesn't like it is pretending
it's like you took a hydraulic press to your mind to narrow your views as much as possible
>>387326591
>When the zone begins
>"Wtf Oil ocean? who even likes this zone?"
>after the actual level
>Hey, that wasn't bad at all
