Ok I just checked and apparently Iron Harvest -is- set in the same setting as Scythe the boardgame.

Would have been more interesting if it was turn-based strategy with base-building and stuff. But I guess this is a good compromise to get a wider audience interested in it.

King Art Games, Rozalski and Stonemaier Games have confirmed that they are in the same setting, same factions. Only difference is Scythe focuses more on resource production while Iron Harvest will be more combat and character oriented.

I don't hate RTS games (I personally don't like them all that much, but they're certainly not the worst), but if you take an interesting gameplay set-piece or object like mechs and use it in something that disconnects the player from them like an RTS, you can go fucking kill yourself.
