Valve is pretty greasy, Nintendo is getting there too. However, Blizzard wins by default on account of having once had such an unbelievably high standard of quality and sinking so fucking low.

No, EA is still worse. Mostly because they've broken more quality studios. All the EA victims combined are worth a lot more than Blizzard at prime.

They managed to put a price tag on a game they are giving away for free.

Went from Number 1 to Utter trash shill company, you can pretty clearly see the degrading after the Activision infusion with Blizzard. They literally do NOTHING for years and get massive money, it's like they are on welfare except they shit out some casual game that can be made in 5 months and then get the most cash the gaming industry have ever seen.....
The only true gaming company left is Valve.

One more reason game companies should be required to change their names when enough of the original staff are removed or changed beyond reasonable levels, such as mergers. Would do a number of bioware as well.

I can't think of an MMO that I'd ever be ok with playing for a decade other than WoW, I also find HotS to be the only MOBA other than Smite that I can play forever without getting pissed or bored. I've only ever been to one Blizzcon but it was the coolest convention I've ever been to and I know its something that most people don't even notice but they are so kind to the handicapped there it's insane. I think a lot of the hate they get is just narcissism of small differences.

Blizzard is like a best friend who stabbed you in the back. I held them in really high regard for years. Their "it's done when it's done" attitude towards releases to ensure quality was one I could get behind, and it paid off. They had a nearly flawless record of consistent top tier games. Seeing the care they put in WoW with the frequent patches convinced me to invest heavily into that game. I was certain they wouldn't fuck it up.

Looking back, I can't believe the piece of shit WoW has become. I sunk years into that game, playing from vanilla to cataclysm. I have so much in that game, but it's no longer the game I want anything in. None of it matters because it's a game I can't enjoy.
>>
>>387314840
The sad thing is that is maybe 1/3 of full post. EA just cretaes games to farm money. Or create half a game, give it 200% tag and shill it on /v every time

Well, blizzard uses paid shills/marketers too. But i can expect some quality even from newest blizz games. lets compare buying wow + legion vs star wars battlefront. In first, i get rpg with content created over 15 years. From second, i got overpriced shit in SW universe that died 2 months after release

Anyway, blizz jews money from everything. But its just a lesser evil compared to fucked up EA

Bobby "We want to create a culture of fear in the industry" Kotick

Diablo 3 keeps you playing with the hope of loot
Starcraft 2 keeps gooks playing with the hope of fame
Overwatch keeps retards playing with the hope of fame
WoW keeps people playing because they're trapped in that classic "small reward makes you endure hours of grindan" loop

It's probably for the best, but I can never get addicted to this stuff in that way. I even preordered World of Warcraft and went to the midnight launch and I gave up the game after 2 weeks. I mean why would you subject yourself to all that and then pay monthly for "grindy" content?

I enjoyed Diablo 1-3, but I was never doing magic find runs or hunting for Stones of Jordan or whatever. Just go through the game, alone or with bros, use what items you get but don't obsess about it, move on to higher difficulty etc. Diablo 3 is almost too polished and its like it lacks a soul. Of course it hits you over the head with metagame loop treadmill bullshit too instead of just letting you enjoy the content.

I really liked Diablo 1's thick oppressive atmosphere. It was almost a horror game instead of a hack and slash RPG. Combat had a lot of weight to it and it didn't really have a "run this segment 50 times to get a dank purp" deal going on.

Do people really play video games obsessively with the hope of fame? That's really depressing too me. I play games for a two reasons, for unique experiences (as much as /v/ would like to say otherwise Hellblade definitely delivered here) and competition, which is why I like Starcraft.

I forgot what point I was making, I have ingested some plants (dude) but I hope you enjoyed my blog.

>music
With Michael Jackson and Madonna, the industry realized that they can produce lower quality music that sells incredibly well if the face for the music is well-received by women and blacks. 90's was a slight hiccup in this plan, but they have been steadily on track for over 20 years now.

>film
Budgets have been through the roof for a good while now. This means that directors are given way less chances and freedom to experiment. The same target group thinking that wreaks havoc in music industry also exists here in form of pandering to chinese and black people.

>games
Budget explosion and meddling suits have caused middle-sized developers to mostly disappear. Retail chains also had a lot to do with this ten years ago when they had more power: they pretty much forced everyone to get a blood-sucking publisher like EA, Activision and Ubisoft. Thankfully indies have gained some traction, but I feel they haven't had enough time to develop into more mature companies.

I don't think the problem is the freedom of experiment. The attention shift of audience is where the problem at. Most people won't spend their time in theater now and most likely subscribe Netflix or something else for the same kind of entertainment.

Hollywood at the brink of creativity bankrupt because the top ten box office films in recent years are reboot, sequel or capeshit.

They need to spend more money to advertise and encourage their audience to go to cinema for bucks.

I thought diablo 3 was boring.

I hated legion, it was the first time coming back since wrath of the lich king, liked leveling up but the end game was BORING and world quests were GAY.

I don't like RTS anymore, it's not 1998.

I hate overwatch because I hate the genre. hate TF2 even more.

Diablo 1/Diablo 2 were my favorite games desu. I also liked starcraft once upon a time. WoW TBC was my life for that entire expansion. I lost my gf who would have married me, because of WoW and no regrets.

>fine
Do you call a Loop so fucking base that when you are forced into a choke, that the choke is entire game?
You cannot advance, you cannot attack without being in a comp. Oh look, single player no longer works. That's fine though because it's Blizzard, it's like nobody plays multiplayer games by themselves, and you see nobody relying on team-mates. Although, that's why Call of Duty is popular, btw. Because they have a progression system/gameplay loop which rewards person(s) choosing single player as opposed to punishing them relentlessly for daring to attack when the rest of the team isn't advancing.
If a core loop is that bad, how can it not affect the game?
How bad must the level design be if you cannot possibly affect this type of gameplay through user action?
The only other loop in the game is hilarious as well. 30 second downtimes by walking from spawn to objectives in games ranging from 5 to 10 minutes. So for every 2 deaths, you lose 10% of the game. Trying dying 4-7 times like the majority of players every single game. Between 35% and 20% of each game. Then for some players, 10+. congrats fucko, you played less than half of the entire game actually doing something interesting. To do nothing except run back to the objective. Wow, how incredibly well designed, I love having to experience experiencing the same level design all over again, I love how bored of it I have gotten. Sorry, if you can't do something basic like actually balancing your downtimes/respawn time, which is something that Blizzard managed to overlook. Incredible. Now consider that it takes games such as Quake, Call of Duty, Doom deathmatch, or anything with multiplayer, it will take you pretty much at most 10 seconds to reach uptime, where you're playing the game again. They did it correctly.
Then you've got ultimates killing you left right and centre, because they're 'ultimates', potentially something you can spawn with. 10/10.

Good troll senpai, pick a better game next time.

You chucklefucks change your mind every week. One week EA is the big bad wolf, then ubisoft, then capcom, then activision, then nintendo, then sony, then valve, now it's blizzard? They're nowhere near as bad as the other publishers listed. Blizzard's main flaw is that they listen to their fans too much which causes poor balancing. That's honestly not the worst issue they could have.

Jewish people are probably the rudest pieces of shit you interact with while doing business, with Chinese (from China) being pretty bad too, but I don't let that affect my perception of them outside of work.

>somehow taking responsibility for paying for their fuckups and shipping despite them most LIKELY being the unreliable party in the relationship in exporting

If you're a sucker, you're going to be played like one. Majority of those anecdotes are avoidable and even so, it isn't that hard to check the reputation of a company. Especially with smaller ones, you should be wary.

Blizzard have mastered the art of creating digital crack long ago.
There was a time where I bought all their games because I knew they would be good.

That feeling was almost gone when i saw that the auction house destroyed D3. They did what no other dev would tho and removed it from the game, which was a massive service to gamers. Bethesda would just watch the franchise burn and blame toxic superfans.

I hope blizzard recovers and becomes good again. Their freemium games are cancer.

Ninetndo is fucking cancer incarnate.

They threw a cease and desist at Project M.
They made a better game than nintendo has ever made.
If this was any other company they would have hired theese people but Nintendo, being the stagnant gooks that they are, they just shut that shit down.

Nintendo also banned Melee to ever stream on twitch. They only reversed the ban cause of huge backlash. I mean, why would they ban thei own game from twitch?

Nintendo does not care about fun. It's nu-fun. Their games has no depth, they are as shallow as they get. The lowest skill ceiling next to fucking FIFA.
Im not saying casual games are bad. I'm just saying that they make casual games and then they lower the skillceiling on purpose as to make everyone get the chance to win.

They do. Blizzard released HS and now everyone and their mother want to create a TCG. Even valved jumped on the bandwagon with their DotA hearthstone knockoff.

Same thing when WoW became huge and everyone tried to copy them.
Same thing when their first RTS games became huge ("huge" at the time anyways) and everyone tried to copy them.
Same thing when D2 became huge and everyone tried to make diablo clones back in early 2000s
Same thing now with a bunch of people trying to make Overwatch knockoffs.
